Protesters demand custody of Qadri’s ‘holy gun’

LAHORE: While some circles mourned the death of former governor Salmaan Taseer, religious groups organised rallies and processions in Lahore hailing his self-confessed assassin Malik Mumtaz Qadri.

Qadri, who was part of Taseer’s security squad, shot him dead in Islamabad on January 4 last year in arguably the country’s most high-profile blasphemy-related killing. He then accepted responsibility for the killing before a court of law that awarded him the death sentence. Qadri’s supporters, who hail him as a pious fighter of Islam, have vehemently rejected the death sentence handed to him for Taseer’s murder.

On Wednesday, members from various religious groups, including the Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz, registered their protest against the court’s verdict in rallies across the city, particularly outside the Lahore Press Club, Minar-i-Pakistan and the Data Darbar.
About 1,000 people gathered at the darbar, which was decorated with huge portraits of Qadri. Participants also held Qadri’s pictures and chanted slogans against Taseer and in favour of Qadri. Media was also accused of not giving proper coverage to the rallies.

‘Holy gun’:hang2:
The Sunni Ittehad Council demanded the government to hand over to them the “holy gun” that Qadri had used to kill Taseer. The council said it was ready to pay Rs100 million for the weapon.
“If cricket bats and hockey sticks belonging to players can be auctioned, Qadri’s gun should also be put up for auction and we will buy it,” said Allama Muhammad Tahir Tabassum, triggering the demand for the gun.:cheesy:
An announcer from the stage made provocative statements. When participants responded with a murmur to one of his statements, he said to them: “Mumtaz Qadri expressed his love for the Holy Prophet (pbuh) by shooting a blasphemer, and you cannot raise slogans with full throats in love for the Prophet (pbuh).”

Marking the moment
At 4:25pm, participants celebrated Taseer’s assassination by standing up, raising their hands and reinforcing promises to follow Qadri against every “blasphemer”.:hitwall:
“We pay tribute to Qadri who has remained firm on his stance since he shot Taseer dead,” said Allama Muhammad Nawaz Bashir Jalali. “By taking this step, he has become well-known the world over.”

“This is the day to renew our promises to defend the revered status of prophethood. Taseer’s murder is purely according to Islamic injunctions,” said Pir Atharul Qadri, accusing Taseer of committing “unislamic” deeds. “Whoever commits blasphemy, his tongue should be snatched.”
Habibulah Saeedi, a lawyer who had showered rose petals on Qadri when he arrived for his trial in Rawalpindi, also addressed participants. “The legal fraternity is in favour of Qadri and his slogan will continue to resonate in courtrooms.”

“Malik Ishaq who has killed dozens of Muslims has been released. Why can’t Qadri be released?” said SIC’s Mujahid Abdul Rasool, who said that they will wage a war against PML-N, PPP, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Lashkar-e-Taiba who are against the SIC.
Dr Raghib Naeemi said ‘true lovers’ of the holy prophet (pbuh) will continue to eliminate blasphemers, regardless of international condemnation.

Resolution
Participants adopted a resolution which demanded presidential clemency for Qadri and punishment for Christian woman Aasia Bibi whose death row for blasphemy Taseer had opposed.
The resolution also demanded permanent closure of Nato supplies and US evacuation of all airbases, including those in Jacobabad and Pasni. It demanded that killers of Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi and attackers of shrines be brought to book.

The resolution also condemned the Ahmadiyya community as enemies of Pakistan and demanded that they be removed from key government posts.

The resolution also demanded a free, fair and impartial investigation into the Memogate scandal and treason charges for those responsible.

Sir Point is not Qadri point is that no one in Muslim Country can be allowed to do blashmey or support those who commit blashmey if somebody does it government should take action or people will do it on their own and that will create more chaos but this will happen

no difference between you and qadri infact i am surprised why you dont have that idiots picture in your avatar and the latest demand for holy gun in your signature ... give it a thought . Any how coming to the point We have been round in circles many times ... where we have spoken about the punishment for blasphemy and except logic you have only come up with collection of twisted Ahadees , my argument will be the same like always thats Its well known that after the death of Prophet (PBUH) till late the Ahadees were used by Arabs to keep control on power , These Ahadees are mostly man made and there is no word of Allah SWT here .. Therefore i will NOT take a Hadees in some book to decide for a persons life !! Np way thats plain wrong and such actions will defame Islam ... Yes if its in Quran i will blindly follow it!!

Allah says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]

Allah says: “If it had been your Lord’s will, all of the people on Earth would have believed. Would you then compel the people so to have them believe?” [Sûrah Yûnus: 99]

Allah says: “So if they dispute with you, say ‘I have submitted my whole self to Allah, and so have those who follow me.’ And say to the People of the Scripture and to the unlearned: ‘Do you also submit yourselves?’ If they do, then they are on right guidance. But if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message. And in Allah’s sight are all of His servants.” [Sûrah Âl `Imrân: 20]

Allah says: “The Messenger’s duty is but to proclaim the Message.” [Sûrah al-Mâ’idah: 99]

True light of our religion that the ignorant do not understand.

We are perceived terribly around the world and right here is a perfect example why. The whole article sounds like a cartoon; our society has completely lost itself in this religious mania...completely sane men have begun to see everything as a referendum on Islam.
Qadri is nothing short of a murder, who destroyed a life and by his own misguided belief brought more shame than any apparent blasphemy could, to the religion he claimed to be protecting. I was never a supporter of Taseer, but for anyone to be killed for simply expressing an opinion that differs from another is absolutely terrible.
On another note, as long as the blasphemy law exists, people will abuse it. Laws relying on word of mouth and an obscure and intangible moral compass on whats right and wrong should not exist.

I have watched all videos of Taseer he did no blasphemy in any of video ,
further more talking about the women asia ..its not proved any where that she did any blasphemy seems that she has been framed by some one ,

Talking about the blasphemy law i don't know what exactly it is , if some one has any of its print please post it here , give us opportunity to read it.

Someone told me that basic blasphemy law was made in British era so it protected every religion , we see mullaz many time abuse hindu/sikh gods , and christian philosophy , they do what they feel is good no one asks them its blasphemy or not, not very healthy practice.

And now we see these mullahz encouraging murders , no one should be allowed to take law in hands.

We need a new law regarding incitement to murder, this will shut the takfiri mouths up.
