WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama was interrupted three times by a woman who shouted about drones and detainees in Cuba as he delivered a speech on national security.

The woman was identified as Medea Benjamin from the anti-war group Code Pink. Benjamin yelled from behind a bank of cameras before security removed her from the hall at National Defense University in Washington.
Obama at one point said he was willing to “cut the young lady some slack” because the issues he was addressing are worth being passionate about.

Benjamin shouted, quote, “86 were cleared already. Release them today!”

That appears to be a reference to detainees who remain in Cuba despite being cleared for transfer from the facility.

Well if i am not mistaken he was even interrupted when he went to visit Israel recently by a young Palestinian no need to say what happened to him though he was saved because of the media involvement. Mr Obama feels he can keep lying and people would accept it and to issue a statement in which he claims that drones are legal is absolutely preposterous. On one hand he said that America is more secure than it was before and on the other he claimed that now they have their own terrorists to fight within their own borders. The man doesn't know what he is saying or doing he is just a bought puppet who says as much as he is asked to and acts the way he is expected to.

President Barack Obama was interrupted by Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin three times during a major foreign policy speech Thursday when talking about closing Guantanamo Bay and discussing his administration’s policy on drone strikes.
The second time she interrupted, Obama became irritated.

“Part of free speech is you being able to speak, but also me being able to speak. And you listening,” Obama said to applause.

Obama conceded after she left, however, that she had a point.

“The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to,” Obama said. “Obviously, I do not agree with much of what she said. And obviously, she wasn’t listening to me in much of what I said. But, these are tough issues. And the suggestion that we can gloss over them is wrong.”

The first time Benjamin spoke up to interrupt, the crowd applauded her.

“Let me finish, ma’am,” Obama said.

“It’s not Congress. It’s you, sir!” she shouted back. “… You are Commander-in-Chief!”

“Ma’am, thank you,” Obama said, after a few failed attempts to get in a word. “You should let me finish my sentence. Today, I once again call on Congress to lift the restrictions on detainee transfers from Gitmo.”

Medea Benjamin has also been detained in lahore by the IsI in 2007.
