PTI has always been vocal against all forms of corruption and it remains one of the most important parts of its manifesto that it would end corruption in Pakistan. Recently Panama leaks have exposed the large scale corruption by Nawaz Sharif and his family. Though most good Pakistani people would like him to resign but NS wants to cling to power as has been the typical psyche of previous rulers. PTI and other opposition are demanding that an impartial commission holds inquiry into corruption by NS and his family. This is also the demand of most Pakistani citizens that an inquiry has to be held into business activities of NS and his family so as to know whether they have conducted their business affairs legally or illegally and to what extent they have done corruption in their business affairs.

However PTI should use this opportunity of Panama leaks crisis to strengthen the institutions of the country against corruption by making demands for structural reforms of the anti-corruption bodies in the country. We recall, just about a month before Panama leaks crisis, corrupt NS wanted to cut wings of NAB since NAB had started to point towards large scale corruption by his cabinet and his relatives in making of LNG terminals to import liquified gas from Qatar.

This LNG terminals affair might have been a very planned corruption since any sincere and earnest leader of Pakistan would have built IP gas pipeline from where gas could be sourced at cheapest rates considering all different expenses so there was a greater economic feasibility of the IP gas pipeline project. The project could be completed in a short time as Iran had built their side of the pipeline and we could extend a pipeline to Sui where it could be linked to existing gas pipeline network of the country. The only excuse was that Iran remains under sanctions but why could a NATO member Turkey freely import gas from Iran while we could not since our government was far less sincere to our country Pakistan and far more sincere to find out ways to make corruption.

Now NS repeatedly inaugurates TAPI pipeline which has no economic feasibility when compared to IP pipeline. Most Pakistanis smell that this is another opportunity by NS and company to make corruption in the future. TAPI pipeline is a project too ahead in future. Iran has already built their side of the pipeline so why do you not do a little bit of work and connect that pipeline to existing pipeline network. Iran Pakistan pipeline is easier, less costly, more secure as it does not have to pass through Taliban controlled ares in Afghanistan and it can be completed years earlier. If NS were sincere to Pakistan, they would have completed IP pipeline but then how would close relatives of NS embezzle billions of rupees in making of another longer pipeline in far flung, unsecure, remote areas with mountain terrain and embezzle billions more like they did when they made LNG terminals on the Arabian sea. The government says we will also build IP pipeline some time later. We are not a very rich country and we cannot afford this generous 'ShehanShah' attitude towards pipelines. We want to build just one pipeline that is very right for Pakistan and has greatest economic feasibility from all different perspectives.

If the government thinks that there was no corruption as they always like to trumpet after making corruption, they must explain here and before rest of the Pakistani people why were LNG terminals and later TAPI pipeline preferred over more economically feasible IP pipeline. Why could we not build IP pipeline and make an agreement to import gas from Iran on similar terms like Turkish people have done with Iran. I am sure Turkish people thought very well about interests of their country when they made an agreement and set all its terms to import gas from Iran and why could we not model our agreement to import gas from Iran like Turkish-Iran agreement.

So when we see that the present government does not let go of the corruption opportunities and when NAB and other Pakistanis cry foul, NS starts to get angry and makes his intent clear that he will make laws to limit powers of NAB to investigate such things. My purpose of writing here is that TI and other sincere opposition parties should take this opportunity to force restructuring of NAB as a totally independent body with a thorough mandate to investigate any government or private corruption. It would be free to investigate corruption by IK or NS and other citizens starting first from the government office bearers.

Government must not be allowed to choose the head of NAB. There should be a eight members governing body with two members chosen from each of the stakeholders like government, opposition, Judiciary and Pakistan Army. The total number of governing body could be increased but keeping the ratio of representation of each stakeholder the same. In such a case if there is a corruption, it will be known to each pillar of the state and it would be impossible to hide it. This governing body will have the right to choose the head of NAB or possibly remove him under very strict conditions when some wrongdoing has been proven.

NAB would have every authority to investigate any citizen of Pakistan and after NAB has investigated the case, it will openly publish the report for citizens of Pakistan to view it and make their intelligent opinion after reading and discussing the report. The case will then go to courts formed under special authority of supreme court where decision will be made whether or how to punish the corrupt party in speedy but just trials.

A lot of other common sense changes could be made to above structure of NAB and its agenda in order to ensure that every government or private citizen who commits corruption is punished appropriately. It is my appeal to Tehreek-e-Insaf and other parties to take maximum benefit from the present Panama leaks crisis in order to strengthen the foundations of Pakistan and its institutions. If we let go of this opportunity, the reign of corruption set loose by NS and company will start again in Pakistan and the only people to lose would be citizens of Pakistan who want to live here forever while corrupt people and their children will simply go abroad and live there as is the common practice.

PTI has always been vocal against all forms of corruption and it remains one of the most important parts of its manifesto

I stopped reading your book after the above first line. There are some corrections needed to be made:

1) PTI has always been vocal against all forms of corruptions for OTHERS not belonging to PTI. For PTI people with records of billions of corruption, fraud, land grabbing through torture and beatings and issuing death threats to poor citizens, its perfectly fine. Some examples of land grabbing include many commercial lots of border line villages in Islamabad, hundreds of acres of land from border line villages (NOW a part of Islamabad, called Bini Gala for example, where IK was given over a billion worth of house as a "GIFT", you can guess why :enjoy:). These examples also include fraudulent offshore activity through Indian companies to hide millions into different investments, the millions given by poor Pakistanis as donations to IK, offshore companies to Aleem and Tareen and much more). BUT, according to PTI's manifesto (is there a real one ), the above items can NOT be called corruption and are perfectly legal in PTI's boks. Whoever thinks these are illegal activities, is a total idiot, that includes all law enforcement of Pakistan.

2) But accusations of any wrong doing on PTI's opponents mean, per the PTI's manifesto, they are already criminals without giving the Supreme Court time to investigate. So if you are a PTI member, the corruption is totally acceptable and no one has to even bring it up. The party's leadership will support you. If you are one of the opponents, you are already a corrupt individual and therefore you should be in Jail per the PTI manifesto and no investigation should be needed.

3) The bottom line is, this manifesto was written in Zia or Mushy's times I guess and its now throwaway. The manifesto needs to mention, that there will be a "JUSTICE FOR ALL" so that all evil, corrupt and abusive politicians can go to hell and the Pakistanis as a nation can get educated, non-violent and non-verbally abusive leaders, who can peacefully complete larger projects benefiting the country and can take the entire nation forward. Not just PTI's members forward by fraud and stealing others work because PTI's manifesto doesn't call for any work to be done for the nation. Instead, it says to do violent "sit-ins" and steal the government in any way shape or form, to put PTI's name on their started project to claim "progress" when in reality, PTI can't beat a Chicken in production of an Egg a day.

Please update the manifesto based on realities inside Pakistan in 2016. Otherwise, your size of power will be 25% of what it is in this term. People who vote, know who is making progress and who is too busy in making empty threats, sit-ins and to derail progress!!

Bani Galla never was worth a billion rupees even as of now its value is 77 crore it was way less back in the 90,s before the influx of settlers in Islamabad which resulted in the property price hike

@Viper0011., you are showing the typical mentality of people who when accused of wrongdoing, respond by recrimination in return without saying anything about the original accusation. You never said a word by corruption by PM and his family but started charging on PTI. It is ironic that you did not want to read my post but you wrote an even larger reply without reading the original post.

I am asking for a restructured anti-corruption body, a new or overhauled NAB, that would investigate corruption by IK or NS alike. Since PTI is on a stronger moral ground, they would back the idea. However, since NS and company want to do corruption they would oppose any such idea. If NS and company are that good and clean as they claim why are they afraid of impartial NAB. If they are clean, NAB cannot hurt hem at all ever but I tell you the truth NS would die before he would accept an impartial NAB. He has to be forced to accept it in times when he is under pressure for his family's corruption.

Anybody who says that this impartial anti-corruption body is a bad idea simply wants to hurt the interests of Pakistan. I think this should be one litmus test of any politician in Pakistan and if the politician likes the idea or not will tell the Pakistani people who is a genuine leader and who simply wants to do corruption, embezzle money, practice nepotism and then settle abroad. Those people who are clean will sponsor and back the idea while the ones who are corrupt will do everything in their power to stop it from being a reality.

Under the current rottan regime of NS there is no way to make any institution powerful .accountibility will happen and will start from Noora and his filthy kids .fish rots from top .
Typical pti response based on their hatred against plmn and its leader.

That's why we always say.

RO IMRAN RO.

Because Ptians can only cry,AS they can't defeat plmn in election.

.
@Ranasikander, please do not beat about the bush and come to the point. Tell us one thing whether you would like a totally independent restructured NAB or not? In one word 'yes' or 'no' tell us first if you like the idea or not. Then explain your yes or no in more detail.

The truth is no body wants an Independant NAB in Pakistan. Neither plmn, PPP or PTI.

We know how PPP is crying against nab in sindh. How plmn reacted when nab did some hip hop in Punjab and how IK and KPK gov. Sacked their own ehtisaab commissioner in KPK when he exposed their corruption.

No body is Haji sahab in politics.
So better stop considering any politicaan as saints

Let me restate in plain words what you are trying to say. "All our political parties are corrupt and crook and want to continue to do corruption. They are all fine with accountability of others as long as nobody holds them accountable. We, as ordinary Pakistanis, should allow them to make loot in Pakistan since we voted them in power."

It is difficult for me to not feel the pain and stay quiet if the government herself openly starts indulging in corruption. I will continue to write against it as long as there is no corruption in my country. I would ask other Pakistanis to do the same instead of tolerating such evils. Only when all of us openly discuss it and make it obvious to people we elect that we will not stand corruption, otherwise the destiny of our country will remain dark forever.

Dude , we already have one turd Riaz Haq who feels the pain and promotes his blogshit on this forum.

@SBD-3, you mean to say ordinary Pakistanis should shut up and not talk against corruption. It is interesting to understand the psyche of our nation that one who speaks against corruption, everybody wants to silence him. Interesting. Means most people are involved in some kind of corruption or are under influence of somebody corrupt like may be some corrupt electable/MPA/MNA.

I really want to know that I have drawn my conclusions in haste since the sample of the above kind of supporters of corruption is still quite small.

I was talking about marketing the branded shit everywhere.
How sincere is PTI to ehtisaab is already evident from their Bank account audit, Justice Wajeeh's sacking, BoK's scandal and now hushing their own ehtisaab commission. So if you'd know the things, you should have first sort them out i.e. what is PTI's definition of accountability. NAB is pretty competitive as it is. Otherwise if I am to believe the PTI's version for accountability of others then we'd either merge NAB in ISI or have god like people running this institution.

.
I am not speaking on behalf of PTI but as an ordinary Pakistani, I do consider them to have better record as compared to open loot by other parties. I am not a member of PTI.

Can you believe NS was making statements against NAB just a month ago and wanted to curtail its powers because they had pointed towards corruption by one of his close relatives in power. Now we know he is knees deep in corruption himself. You are talking about corruption by IK and his party. Alright, let us make a strong NAB that would do investigation against him or his party as well just like any other party and then send the cases to appropriate courts for trial with all the collected evidence. I am sure IK will himself present himself for accountability more readily than NS would.

I am not talking about ISI or angels. Why can we not have a better NAB in which there is involvement of opposition, judiciary and Pakistan Army. These are all pillars of state in our country and I think less representative and less inclusive the NAB governing body, the more chances of its allowing more corruption and condoning corruption by government and others in our society. Isn't it ironic that it is the people in power and government that do most corruption because of authority associated with being in power, and we ask the very people in power and government to choose members of NAB and its governing body. In fact, I would say that it should be even more right that all members of NAB governing body are chosen by opposition and other pillars of state. Finally if the cases have to go to court, nobody should be unduly worried since they would be given ample opportunity to fight for justice if they (the accused) consider themselves innocent.

Please do not think you can silence me with your 'juggats'. If you have any argument with merit, please state it and we will evaluate it based on reasoning.
