Yep, a little disappointed that it looks like only 16 F-16s will be purchased from USA.
Wait to see which version of the fighter will be brought - most likely refurbished Block 50/52.

Possibly these are only the first batch & more will be ordered afterwards.Yep, a little disappointed that it looks like only 16 F-16s will be purchased from USA.

Should have gone for J-10 in future AESA and BVR would have been a good package. I doubt US would sell anything capable since you border India and they arming it for China.

Bangladesh should stick to western option for foreseeable future. Better quality weapons and will give us an edge against both India(at least qualitatively) and Myanmar. If Pakistan can use F-16 against India ignoring American prohibition, then there is no reason why Bangladesh can not if the need arise. And Bangladesh need to start preparation of developing an indigenous fighter jet program in collaboration with other countries(China or Turkey). It would be the most farsighted decision in long term. The F-16s are not meant for India but Myanmar - 16 Block 50/52 when armed with AIM-120C would be sufficient to take on MAF.
J-10s will be purchased in the future to take on India - hopefully very soon.
Hope so.
Only 16!! Wtf....we need at least 100.

F-16 with AIM-120D can counter the above mentioned aircraft.India now has Rafale.
If BD gets refurbished F-16 Block 50/52 with AIM-120C as I suspect then this will be no match for Rafale with Meteor.
Chinese J-10C with PL-15 will be better to take on Rafale as it has cut-down J-20 AESA radar and eletronics.
BD has zero possibility right now of being engaged in any joint fighter aircraft development as it has virtually zero knowledge in the sector.
Best stick to the trainer for next decade.
