President Park Geun-hye praised the development of the Surion, Korea's first indigenous military helicopter, by saying that the development has made Korea the world's 11th country to develop its own helicopter, at a ceremony to deploy the Surion at the Army Aviation School in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do (South Chungcheong Province) on May 22.

Looks similiar to Puma helicopter.... anyways congrats SK!

well...it's the most sad part of this helicopter. For some reason(probably the roc, the military wanted smaller ones i guess) they actually downsized the cougar and made it smaller into this inferior design. I'm actually one of the people who's been against this project.

Looks like a cross between a Puma and a Mi-2 (rear landing gear and curvature of the rear fuselage)

Change the landing gears and engine intakes and you have a Puma on the outside!

A quick search on google reveals it was made in cooperation with Eurocopter so there's where the looks came from!

Anyways, good job by Korea in making their own chopper!
