President Mahinda Rajapaksa donated Rs. One Million to the family of executed Sri Lankan maid Rizana Nafeek at Temple Trees today.
A cheque of Rs. 1 million from the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) was presented to Nafeeks family by the President.
Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare, Dilan Perera, Chief Minister of the Eastern Province M. N. Abdul Majeed, MPs M.S. Thaufeek and A.H.M. Azwer were also present at the function.
Meanwhile, Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has donated Rs. 250,000 for the family of Rizana to build their house. The road in front of her house in Muttur had been named as Rizana Mawatha
