General Electric GE Locomotives for Pakistan Railways.. Pakistan will receive 55 of these 4000 HP Locomotives

We should be starting to update our Railway Tracks , and retiring old Locomotives and moving to easily available newer models used world wide we might even find lots of Used supply

a) Newer engines
b) Newer tech
c) Steel production / usage will create jobs in Steeles mills etc

This standard should only be retained if we make the loco at home 100-300 Loco per year for example.

Pic seems similar to what we have in local ops, any relationship with the one in Indian market. Especially last two pics. American loco engine have solid base that's what I can tell from my personal experience.

are they latest and best in there category??
GE is in its own league, plus they had EMD version also.

4 axle?
i guess there are two variants 4 and 6 axles, because for freight u need heavy locos.....

GE is in its own league, plus they had EMD version also.

EMD is electro-motive division of General motors, nothing to do with GE(General Electric)

Axles will be changed i guess look the track outside their Factory it's low grade track

What happened to Chinese locomotives ?

Nothing Happened they are running fine

Most probably they will be used for cargo trains for CPEC!
