No he is not. He is the leader of a party that won 24 seats in the assembly and it runs Karachi. It recieved 7% of the votes in the last election. That means Altaf has lot of support amongst people in Karachi and other areas of Sindh. That can't be just scoffed at.

Its so obvious this census will benefit Karachi(read MQM) more so then any other area for couple of reasons. Census will show increased population and seats but not necessarily registered voters with CNIC. And since MQM supporters are most active when it comes to going out and voting, results will be obvious.

It doesn't matter if urdu speaking population comes down to 35% in Karachi after next census. For so called mini-Pakistan it need party which is at least fairly representative of city and not based on single ethnic group vote bank. Maybe PSP can be that party if they get everyone on board like they are trying to do even if leadership is former MQM.

They were actually forced to denounces themselves when Altaf exposed himself openly but question is how different is their politics as compare to actual MQM or its just same product under different brand
