They want to damage the Muslim world. Weaken the strongest Muslim countries.
SAA consider Qaeda in Idlib a national threat. Turkey protect Qaeda in Idlib. So they are bound to clash. Let's say Turkey air force use F-4 and F-16 to fight SAA air defense. We have a pretty good idea what happen. In Gulf war outdated Iraqi air defense pummeled American and British planes right out of the sky in very large numbers. They run out of missiles and had to withdraw from Kuwait or else Americans and British run out of planes. Turkey air force ain't Americans and British. SAA ain't Saddam. Turkey has F-4 and F-16 but nothing else, and lack dedicated SEAD planes like EF-111 used in Gulf war and lack Tomahawk long range cruise missiles which pummeled Iraq air defense in Kuwait. SAA got S-200 long range SAM that knocked Israel F-16I right out of the sky and have the even more advanced 21st century S-300PM2 which has range 250 km and Buk M2 which has range 50 km and phased array radars. Saddam never had phased array radar. Egypt army SA-6 shot down hundreds of Israel air force F-4 and Mirage III in Yom Kippur war. If Turkey air force lose that many planes to SAA, Turkey air force be depleted.
So if I were to predict, Turkey air force would suffer far greater loss in Syria than Americans and British did in Kuwait and Turkey air force would lose hundreds of planes like what happened to Israel air force in Yom Kippur war. Your thoughts?
