I suppose some options are likely. Since they already operate MiG-29A bought in the 1980s, the could import either MiG-29M which is the model Egypt recently bought, or if they want a lower cost plane that's easier to maintain they can go for JF-17 which is powered by RD-33 series which is what powers MiG-29 and they are already familiar with this engine. I would say JF-17 is a better option because Syria isn't very big and they don't need a plane with too much range, also JF-17 is easy and low cost to service for a small country like Syria. Your thoughts?
