Well, generally I don't like political correctness. We should be talking practically and sensibly instead.

Truth is primary.

If speaking blunt truth hurts the sentiments of anyone then so be it. Usually insecure and egoistic people can't handle the truth.

Sugar coating bitter truths with white lies to not hurt others egos etc has got to stop. A lie is a lie so don't speak a word of a it if you can't speak the truth.

I generally agree with what you said but we need not always be blunt. We can use different words to present the same truth. For example, I sometimes use "incorrect" instead of "wrong".

Agreed on selection of words. Softer words yet full truth being spoken is always better.

I meant to say respect other peoples culture and individual habits unless they are illegal which however doesn't not include politics

A wonderous and cohesive read, sir. Loved it.
Political Correctness

In the recent times, this term political correctness has become quite controversial. In the western world; political correctness has become a point of contention in the political and cultural war between the conservatives/right wing and the liberals/left wing.

The critics of political correctness
believe that political correctness restricts the discussion of social issues and is a form of censorship and in fact it is an attack on freedom of speech. If a social issue can not be discussed and it is considered a taboo then how can the solution be formed. They believe that political correctness is in fact a social evil.

In the Western world, the people's anger at the mainstream parties is increasing. The people increasingly believe those mainstream parties to be crooked and are also of the opinion that the majority's voice is systematically not being heard in their own countries. They view that their country is being controlled and destroyed by the elite, the politicians and the establishment who are all corrupt and are not loyal to their country and who don't want to discuss sensitive issues or try to solve those issues due to those issues being politically incorrect.

This anger is being cashed by the right wing/populist parties throughout Europe. The traditional mainstream/liberal/left wing political parties are losing ground to right wing parties. These populist parties are not afraid of discussing core social issues that the liberal/left wing parties would deem to be politically incorrect.

Far-right populists across the European continent are either in government, the largest opposition party, or have helped to significantly weaken the established mainstream parties.

The opposition to political correctness was given a huge impetus when Donald Trump was elected President in 2016 who went after political correctness as part of his presidential campaign. Trump discussed issues that before him were considered taboo due to being politically incorrect.

Elsewhere in Russia, Putin has been a longtime critic of political correctness.

Here is a quote of what Putin said in 2013 regarding political correctness. (link given below)

Mr Putin said Russia should avoid the example of European countries that were going away from their roots, by legalising gay marriage and excessive political correctness.

A policy is being conducted of putting on the same level multi-child families and single-sex partnerships, belief in God and belief in Satan. The excesses of political correctness are leading to the point where people are talking seriously about registering parties whose goal is legalising the propaganda of paedophilia, Mr Putin claimed.

People in many European countries are ashamed, and are afraid of talking about their religious convictions. [Religious] holidays are being taken away or called something else, shamefully hiding the essence of the holiday, the Russian president added.

We need to respect the rights of minorities to be different, but the rights of the majority should not be in question, he said.

To conclude all I will say is that political correctness is an attempt to mold our perception of reality through language control and therefore thought control.
