Polio virus found in Lahore, Karachi sewers

KARACHI: Water samples taken from various parts of Pakistan indicate presence of polio virus in Karachi and Lahore, Express News reported on Tuesday.
According to a World Health Organisation (WHO) report, the samples of sewage water collected from Lahore and Karachi were tested positive for the virus.
Surprisingly, samples from Peshawar did not indicate the presence of the virus. Peshawar is believed to be the biggest reservoir of poliovirus in the world, according to a WHO report.
