It's just gimmick of Bajwa and his installed govt. to discredit IK's taunts, nothing more. Pakistan will surely go for mutual interests based foreign policy after elections if IK make comeback with majority. Until then, anything coming from Pak on foreign policy / geopolitics should be taken with truck load of salt.

I agree. I believe PPP signed gas agreement with Iran during the end of their time. Look whats happened with that now. Dirty politics

Shahbaz proving the accusations levelled against him wrong yet again. Smart move would be to advertise this prominently through all domestic media. It will help PDM break PTI's narrative of 'imported gov.'.
You know whatever this govt. (which is on ventilator for couple of weeks) does will work in favor of PTI. If they buy gas/oil from Russia then they will be taking U-Turn on what they have been saying (i.e. We can't make US/Europe angry) and admitting that IK was on right track and now have to follow his policy. If they don't then they're servants of uncle Sam. By ousting PTI and forming government instead of elections, PDM and their handlers have entered in field full of booby traps. Damn if they do, Damn if they don't.

Best interest from American perspective would be to kill the rumor that US and PDM are in bed. Allowing PDM to move ahead with energy purchase from Russia would have an insignificant impact on Russian economy but serve to show Pakistani public that US is truly non - partisan in Pakistani domestic politics. As for the U-turn in PDM stated policy on the issue, Imran has taken many U-turns and have gotten away with it. I expect PDM to also be able to successfully market the U-turn as an independent move if they are serious about doing so
