"Policies of Turkey and Saudi Arabia in Syria are based on a shared perspective," Davutoğlu said at a press conference, adding that Ankara and Riyadh are determined to act together against terrorism and sectarianism.

Davutoğlu, on a visit to Saudi Arabia, had talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and met with Saudi investors on Sunday. He was also expected to meet with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Mohamed bin Salman and Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir before returning home.

He said the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) extremist group and the Syrian regime are "equally guilty" of atrocities in Syria. "We, together with Saudi Arabia, will continue to support moderate opposition in Syria," he said.

Davutoğlu started his three-day trip in Jeddah, then visited Mecca and later Riyadh. Deputy Prime Ministers Yalçın Akdoğan and Lütfi Elvan, as well as Economy Minister Mustafa Elitaş and Interior Minister Efkan Ala, and spy chief Hakan Fidan are accompanying Davutoğlu.

Al-Jubeir said the talks between the king and Davutoglu were positive and constructive.

Al-Jubeir said that he discussed the Syrian crisis with Turkish officials, ways and means of combating terrorism, sectarianism, besides exchanging notes on a range of bilateral and international issues.
He said that “the Kingdom would support the Syrian opposition whether it stays in peace talks in Geneva or not.”

Al-Jubeir said the talks should focus on a transfer of power away from Bashar Assad ... a new constitution and new elections, and a new Syria in which Assad has no role to play. “That’s what the Syrian opposition went to negotiate.” He added: “We support them if they choose not to negotiate. We support them if they choose to negotiate.”

Regarding Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian plane taking part in operations in Syria on Nov. 24, Al-Jubeir said: “We support Turkey’s right to defend its territory in the ways it sees fit.”.''

They mean savage, jihadi, raping barbaric terrorists who have been doing everything we saw FSA doing. :hitwall:

Disgusting. Saudi was capable of that but Turkey?

I am shocked to see that beautiful and cultured nation go on this road under Erdogan.

No one is angel there, like in any war. However Assadists and their supporters committed 100 times more crimes than all other fractions in Syria combined. That includes industrial scale torture, mass starvation, daily indiscriminate bombings of civilians and so on.

Most important that the whole war could be spared had Assad departed to Iran like Ben Ali.

I am not Persian but Indian.

Few months ago, I was there in your country and saw your culture and lifestyle closely. Very impressive.

I take it that you are his ardent supporter.

Hope it never happens, but what will be the reaction of Turks when someone starts supporting the Moderate Kurds one day for their independence from Turks. And same for the Saudis.

How will the Turks feel then ?

The actions of these nations has led to the death of thousands of Muslims.

We Muslims are killing our own, who else is needed to kill us.

The other day was looking at pics of Khalid Bin Waleed's destroyed tomb & the masjid, and it saddened me as this destruction has been brought by ourselves, at the hands of Muslims. The Sword of Allah tomb destroyed by Muslims.

Turks are racist and see themselves as "Absolute Rightness " so talking with them is like talking with a statue ... you have better chance to have a serious talk with an Arab than a Turk ....

It sucks but in a war, you choose one side and you live with the consequences.

Frankly all the factions fighting in Syria are just as bad as each other.
