PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the first phase of FATA University in Peshawar, costing Rs1.8 billion on Tuesday.
This is the first university of merged tribal districts which will provide the latest education to capable students of these districts.
The premier also distributed laptops amongst youth who were selected on a merit basis from across the province.
Later, addressing the ceremony, he said one-hundred thousand laptops are being distributed purely on a merit basis across the country.
Speaking about the country's difficult economic situation, Shehbaz stressed the need for learning from the past.
He said this is the right time to shape the future of the country with expeditious efforts in agriculture, Information Technology, minerals, export and other sectors.
Shehbaz also said the government has devised a comprehensive project to utilise agricultural power as a game-changer sector for the country’s economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali expressed determination of supporting the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the development of the country.
Addressing the ceremony, Adviser to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam thanked the PM for working day and night in improving the country's economic situation.
