PM Imran refuses to accept Bajwa’s resignation as SAPM
Sabir Shakir On Sep 4, 2020 Last updated Sep 4, 2020

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday declined to accept the resignation of his special assistant on information and broadcasting Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.

Bajwa, who is also serving as the chairman of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, had announced to step down as the premier’s special assistant the other day.

He presented his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan today, who refused to accept it and asked him to continue discharging his duty as his aide. Sources quoted the prime minister as saying that he is satisfied with the clarification and evidence Bajwa presented regarding assets charges levelled against him and his family.

Speaking during ARY News programme Power Play on Sept 3, Asim Saleem Bajwa had announced his resignation as SAPM on Information and Broadcasting. However, he said, he will continue working as CPEC Authority chairman.

His resignation followed on the heels of a tweet in which he “strongly” rejected the allegations levelled against him and his family in a less-known news website’s report.

His press release did nothing. Any accused would say they are not guilty. Money trail must ne presented.

If he is honest, I hope he drags Noorani to US courts for defamation.

Also its disappointing that a General did not deem his country livable for his children.

And it was a full Toss.....Great Six!!
IK & Selectors kept loosing moral high grounds rapidly.

I thought IK gave a solid-hard slap to fasaadi's who kept calling him selected rather than elected.

General or civilian, money trail is a must but what if he came out clean. Fasaadion ko ignore karna chahiye na k un k uksaaway mai ana chahiye. We all know from where the strings are being pulled.

yes ofcourse.we all know whos tying to malign his name. But the accusations must be cleared infront of everybody. So the supporters can clearly say that the “general provided money trail hence stayed, the one who din’t was disqaulified.”

Lmao, what a damn pantomime.

indeed but the stage of deception is filed with illusions where the focus is on the left hand whereas the right holds the trick and just like that the key is the CPEC Authority and the CPEC Ordinance 2019 and its Section 12.

Absolutely, and it’s good to know that others such as yourself have seen that ordinance and all that it entails.

I have to hand it generals, as one of them quoted in an interview a few years ago; “if you can’t ride two horses, you have no business being in the circus.”.

One has to look at the press release by Chinese embassy to know that this was the best decision and in interest of Pakistan.
Move by the indian propagandist supported by anti-Pak foreign living journalist thwarted to put a dent on the progress of CPEC.
Also, it would have been a big mistake to give into such an ill-intended campaign. It would have opened doors in future for any such actors to post story on a random site and malign and target anyone with a chance to get their desired result.
Justice and fairness should happen but it should be Pakistan, Pakistani law and Pakistani being the one meting and demanding it, not these 2 rs pieces mouthpieces and propagandist and anti-state elements.

Not a fan on Gen. Bajwa, But why would he give out his money trail on social media or to the media? The news reporter should file a case on him where bajwa can either come clean by showing money trail in courts and let the reporter face the consequences or go to jail.

Thanks. Field is law so the ordinances and legislation that are passed, are my bread and butter and their far and wide impact is something i need to know as the citizen of Pakistan and the impact of the ordinance will indeed be far and wide. Such a crucial project yet no agreement is made public, no information is brought out and no legal proceeding can be initiated against them so if they error, we cant hold them accountable and we cant even bring the CPEC authority to court to ask them what have they signed. This is the same when people cry that our precious resources were sold before at pittance causing losses to the country. Those agreements were also not made public and same here and then we have legal immunity to boot.

The generals are masters of such otherwise they wouldnt be this good at playing such a game. They would have long lost and would have been sent back. They are so good at it that one only has to see the complete 180 turn in terms of reaction at this incident and the previous incidents of accountability campaign against non-military personal.

maybe @VCheng has a point. This country is functioning exactly how it was supposed to function.

Also its disappointing that a General did not deem his country livable for his children.

The General's kids were mature adults when they decided to move to US. What do you want him to do, lock them up in their rooms?

As for Noorani, going by his checkered history, i would not even bother giving him a second of my time.
