PM Imran Khan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Joint Press Conference in Tehran

.
Nice progress made. Good to see the joint press conference with both countries discussed the security issues and Iran's acknowledgement that BRA is a terrorist group and will be treated as such.
I hope now both countries implement these agreements and we should also connect to Turkey for trade.
Both Pakistan and Iran should do barter trade or use local currencies instead of any foreign currency.

Sombre mood, the Pakistanis looked emotionally upset and stressed on multiple occasions that it will not tolerate attacks against Pakistan to be launched from Iran. Iran's mood looked it was just beginning to grasp realisation of the repercussions of its actions. Good to see a joint reactionary force as first step towards putting past the differences between the nations and looking to take advantage and benefit from a new region, especially in areas of trade, science and technology.

Pakistan is pretty serious now and now no violations will be tolerated so Iran better stick to the agreements and implement them and we will surely respond them in kind.

Diplomacy is the best way of reducing risk to Pakistan and I'm confident IK has the pedigree to bring peace between the nations, if both are willing. I'm just concerned that Iran has set her sights on greater things and this becomes a significant issue in the performance of agreements.

Very interesting body language indeed. When the Iranian President spoke, he was keen to stress that no 3rd country would be allowed to spoil the 'brotherly' relationship between the two countries, that there was some tensions on the border, that people declared as terrorists by Pakistan would be treated as terrorists by Iran. Obviously barter trade etc.
When IK spoke he started of being nice, but he was very, very serious. During the whole time, Iranian President was speaking, IK was sitting relaxed but with both hands on the table, with his fingers moving a little bit here and there. He seemed to be thinking and concentrating immensely on the what Rouhani was saying. The first thing after that he said was on 'terrorism'. I personally think that behind close doors, there were some serious discussions held. The way IK has a habit of straight talk and telling it on your face, I would not be surprised if he delivered something serious straight to the face of Rouhani and other Iranian leadership. Interesting times ahead.

Great meet up.

  • set up joint reaction force against terrorists that have killed Pakistani and Iranian security forces/destablize both Balochistan in Iran and Balochistan in Pakistan.
  • PM IK linked Indian oppression and killing of Kashmiri's to Israeli oppression killing of Palestinians
  • Iranians offered gas/electricty
  • possibility of Turkey - Iran - Pakistan rail line connecting Istanbul/Tehran/Islamabad
This is great diplomacy at play. Instead of isolation and helping India Pakistan is showing flexibility by being able to hug UAE, KSA and Iran in one breath. Something only Indian's have thus far been able to do. With ISI chief there PM IK reiterated both sides will develop policies to sort out the mess on Pak/Iran border which is hurting both countries.

And as a interesting historical anecdote. Had the British not invaded coterminous Pakistan in 1849 we would have been speaking in Persian today and not Urdu or English.

IK has used crisp and strong words about terrorism and how "it was going to create differences between Iran and Pakistan". Very well put. He raised the bar of stress in the beginning and gradually brought it down and concluding at a positive note. Throughout the press-conference, he kept putting pressure as well as kept offering soothing sentences from Iran's stand point.

I see Pakistan's stance is well put, its clear and demands clear cooperation and action from Iranian side. Once peace prevails, both sides will benefit, rather entire region will benefit.

Nice body language half of your messages convey by it not by words.Joint forces offered by Iran but we showed not much interest i)Alhamdolillah we are capable of doing it ourself ii)we cant work with IRGC after recent development
i was thinking Ijaz Shah will deliver the message and dossiers but seems IK choose to present it himself

Dear Iran, we understand your problem. Do whatever you like, but just don't let India to use your soil against us.
And we have your back, don't worry about your enemy using our soil against you. If you guys are worried, put attention on your generals who are running big smuggling circles, and those circles involves Baloch gangs.
