yeah but somehow I think that this mosques are "their mosques".. if you look which persons are at high ranks then you see many germans (in germany) I think this are mostly BND ppl.. thats my opinion not a fact..
I know from first hand that those mosques are being sponsored from dubious rich people from ME, i have seen people turning full salafi from one moment to another, getting money for growing beard for exsample, one of them said to me that Turks are practicing Islam wrong and such stuff, lets not get deeper into the subject.

.
see I thought you were worth my time, but as it turns out you're not
So you want Turkey not to interfere in religious affairs and let private (external) funds play their dirty religious missionary games? If Turkey wants to establish stability and focus on science and development, firstly we must do as Timur rightly says, make peace within our nation and let Islam not fill every rhetoric of our political efforts. Be it anti-islam or pro-islam.

Turkey is as strong as we allow ourselves to be. And if we don't allow peace with islam and stop focusing on that aspect, then maybe we may turn much of our focus towards science and technology.
Sorry bro but in my opinion you are as retarded as any mullah you can show me..

You are not a balanced man..

And religion and science and economy are not as contrary to each other as you belive.. USA is an example of that.. Also I know many religious ppl who studied let it be Christians or Muslims the thing that matters is your brain..

You are talking in a way I only saw from anti Christians wich where against the church and as I see mostly right in their speeches against the katholic church..

When you say religion is worse but also say western countries and their way are the right path you forget that those eu states and USA are what you do not like

Maybe you don't know how frau merkel speaks in public.. There is no difference in religious speech between her and Erdogan both use religion in their speeches..

You don't see the old leninism way of Turkey's glorification of Ataturkizm, systems that vanished long time ago except in some countries for example China.. Those western countries made peace with religion as long as no separatism is made.. That is the only way for turkey..
You are emphasizing very important points. Every nation is inherently interested in preserving and growing their capabilities. The current balance of power favors the West (EU, USA) and naturally they are privilidged compared to the rest of the world. To preserve their status and interests, playing manipulative games in the rest of the world, Middle East, South America, Africa and Asia is crucial. That's called realpolitik, a game of inherent interests at the cost of lesser nations' development. So to speak a zero-sum outcome

If you allow mosques some religious freedom some of them will go crazy, as how some churches have gone crazy radical in the US. But that's a price to pay. One fifth of all the foundations in Turkey are mosque foundations.
Türkiye"deki derneklerin beşte biri cami ve kuran kursu için - Türkiye Haberleri - Radikal
that's about 15 thousand foundations they don't need arab money to survive

Currently we're paying a billion dollar a year to the Diyanat, that money will go to more teachers, more research funding for universities, maybe our own space program. India sent a research probe to mars. INDIA

Imagine the things we could accomplish.

You can insult me all thay long but we're seeing the harms of the religion one way or the other. We have ISIS supporters in Turkey despite the Diyanat. There have been Turkish members in Afghan Taliban who were captured or killed buy coalition forces.

As long as we have religion we'll have radicalizm, we might aswell accept that and shut down diyanat completely. And obligatory religion classes in schools which are utterly useless in teaching anything.

Why would i insult you for expressing your thoughts? 1 billion USD for some measure of stability and keeping religion under state control is a small price to pay. In Sweden we have compulsory Christianity up till high school, i know they have that in Denmark as well, I think most European countries have it. We just tend to make a huge deal of religion in Turkey, focusing on obsolete ideological matters not because ideology is obsolete, but we should have at least some consensus on these matters, so that we can move on insttead of ignoring scientific progress. Islam to me seems just like an excuse for some, as a nation we heavily lack in professionalism, the level of discipline not just in educational institutions but overall is a laughing matter. The Masters's thesis and doctorate thesis look like a third grade bachelor degree essays' mostly referencing the works of mainly one or two papers and getting a pass because even the professors themselves don't bother, since their ascendency to those positions were accomplished through same measures.
This is not my evaluation of the Turkish educational system, many Turkish professors say this over and over again. So you tell me, what difference does it make that the State spends one billion USD in controling religion when there are so many societal problems.

I'm terribly sorry to inform you this, but you can't erase religion because according to your that is the root of all evil in Turkey. It doesn't work that way. If you are so confident that religion's sole function is opium for the weaklings, why not focus on enlightenment, in this way, according to your way of thinking, people will leave religion when they are enlightened individuals who are free of the corrupt hands of islam, right?

dude please, scandinavian countries are the europe's least religious countries... It's probably like a foreign cultures lesson for swedish childeren. They probably don't give a damn. because they've got passed the stage that it would be a problem for them. Scandinavia will never be as religious as Turkey or USA. Let's look at the countries that have/had similiar issues with us and let's inspect how they dealt with those issues.

Now they are talking about gay rights and stuff. And soon they'll get passed that too.

I see plenty of wrong with religion but let's not get into that. You live in the US right? can you tell me how many churches does the US government own?

Religious buildings are tax exempt as long as they don't preach about politics or encourage people to vote for a certain candidate, other than that they are privately owned........ That know of.

Something tells me the Preachers don't exactly follow the rules and manage to get away with it and continue a tax free life. :tsk:

You see we need that same system here. I'm okay with them being tax exempt as long as they work as non-profit foundations.

I just don't want the bloody preacher salaries to come out of my taxes.

guess beyond a doubt, a critical mind can easily see the fact that

it is not the first mosque and it will not be the last one we build either! SO when we build a mosque! why to exploit it and use it as an advertisement, a political show. And calling it a CEREMONY; an opening ceremony! especially when we live in a muslim country where the majority of the population is muslim??? literally it is for praying Allah! so why there is need to exploit it as a symbole! why so many cameras and journalists?...especially when we live in a muslim country where the majority of the population is muslim??? guess this is not a question but it is the answer itself!!!

He is a weak ruler who needs religion to uphold his government; it is as if he would catch his people in a trap. My people are going to learn the principles of democracy, the dictates of truth and the teachings of science. Superstition must go. Let them worship as they will; every man can follow his own conscience, provided it does not interfere with sane reason or bid him against the liberty of his fellow-men.

Mosques are a need in Turkey. Turkish people are not rich and dont have criminal connections like leftists and socialists.

Turkish poor families need mosques and mescid for their happiness. They have nothing else beside their faith.

Well, maybe if you can spend that fortune for making new jobs like new factories, warehouses etc. could be better for those poor families?

I am not against mosques. Even if it's necessarily, we must built it but if it's not. It's just waste and Allah c.c. doesn't like it.

Maybe building factories which produce nothing is rentable in your imagination. But in reality chinese slave labor will outproduce us any day and we have no market for your imagination factories.

Indeed religion is the only thing poor people own.
