ISLAMABAD: In contrast to lavish weddings arranged by other politicians for their children, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held a rather simple reception ceremony for his son.

The prime minister hosted a walima lunch for his son, Abdullah Khaqan Abbasi, at the lawn of PM House on Sunday. It was a low-key and private affair as no government official and staff member of the PM House were invited.

Furthermore, as per recently imposed restriction in Islamabad, the guests were served only one dish. The premier held the function at PM House due to security reasons, official sources said.

Premier’s son is currently associated with Air Blue Airlines and tied knot with Maryam, daughter of Raja Nosherwan, on Friday evening in Karachi.

This function was totally in contrast with recently held wedding ceremonies of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

On his son’s Mehndi function, Khursheed Shah brought him on a sports bike. The function was held at Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi and attended by several PPP leaders, parliamentarians and government officials.

Similarly, for the wedding function of Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son, the sightscreen of Bahauddin Zakariya University’s playground was demolished. His son’s walima reception was arranged in the university’s ground for almost 5,000 guests.

If SC can disqualify NS over Iqama then they sure as hell can disqualify Abbasi over billions of corruption in LNG etc if its public knowledge like you says.

Now we all know what happened in recent senate election and how PPP brought senate votes. That's is public knowledge as PTI MNA/MPA wouldn't vote for PPP candidates otherwise. LNG deal on the other hand was very good and chances of corruption is low.

He was the MD of PIA. PIA suffered the highest losses in its history during Shahid Khaqan tenure, billions of rupees stolen. After his tenure as MD of PIA, he magically gets the capital to open Air Blue.

The LNG contract that Pakistan signed with Qatar was the most expensive in the world. India signed the same deal for less than half the price.

Either he is corrupt, or he is extremely incompetent. Take your pick son.

Not really, it was best deal at that time when no one else was coming forward. We are talking about Pakistan here, terrorist ridden country not very friendly to investors. Later on some companies offered bit lower price because foundation was already laid down and Nawaz successfully defeated terrorists from FATA to Karachi.

Again no source, tell me how much expensive of LNG deal and who was offering cheaper. Now don't come up with two years later bidding when infrastructure was already laid down and Pakistan was paying to Qatar for LNG. Even then other companies only offered 5% lower price.

Meanwhile PTI MPA sold themselves to PPP for senate vote, hypocrites.
