Hello habibis and habibtis, do you guys know any good books about the recent histories of your countries? I don't mean histories of 1000 years, I mean recent histories, specially how the countries were set up, the initial conflicts, etc.

If possible, please give me the names of books that are not heavily biased either way. Obviously, I'm not going to read a book on Saudi Arabia published by PressTV, but at the same time, I don't want to read a book on Sheikh Zayed written by the Sheikh Zayed Institution in UAE.

Peace out

Ali Al-Wardi is really good when it comes to contemporary history of the Arab world.

Back in college, in my middle east politics class, I was assigned to a project where I had to defend Sadat while my project partner and to defend Nasser. Palestinian students in my class got annoyed by my passionate defense of Sadat.

the palstnines want someone who will fight for them until the last soldier i am sure some of them are good people but they need to learn to deal with their problems when sinai was lost we got it back most of the people of the middle east fought British and french occupation
sadat was a good man his only mistake was releasing the brotherhood members from prisons he wanted to use them to counter the socialists he did not know that they are like zombies and all of egypt suffered because of it

Do you know zaban tazi? If not, then the book below includes: "good amount of fair information". Don't expect everything in it to be accurate, but it is still better than many other books. Robert Lacey has been in KSA many times and had written the book below long time ago, then issued an updated version of it after a while. Make sure you get the updated one. As far as I know, this book gets recommended to foreign businessmen who are interested in doing business in KSA.

اسکان عرب فی کرمان That's a book published by an Emirati publisher , if you can read it , it must be an eye opener of how islam really came to ancient iran , and how much the current non-arabs of iran are mixed with arabs, i would have read it if i could ever read arabic
