BEIJING, September 3 (ChinaMil) -- Fang Fenghui, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Muhammad Enamul Bari ndu, psc, the visiting chief of staff of the Bangladesh Air Force, and his party in Beijing on September 2, 2013.

Fang Fenghui said that China and Bangladesh are close and friendly neighbors. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 38 years ago, the relations between the two countries have been developing healthily and smoothly, and the relations between the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Bangladesh Armed Forces have been constantly deepened, as evidenced by in-depth and pragmatic exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in all fields.

The two militaries are expected to actively meet the new requirements for development of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries and further strengthen high-level contacts, personnel training and cooperation in equipment technology, so as to constantly push forward the relations between the two militaries, Fang told his Bangladeshi guests.

Enamul said that the Bangladeshi side is grateful to the Chinese side for its valuable support and assistance in the development of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, especially that of the Bangladesh Air Force, and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries, so as to make contributions to deepening the friendship between the two countries and the two militaries.

I do not think our air Chief went to China to say only what the newspapers are printing. He is visiting just after the BD Army Chief of Staff visited China. I hope, air Chief makes China understand that BAF needs at least five sq. of 4.5G jets to safeguard its sky from the enemy attacks or overflying.

Indeed, BD can essentially become a forward base that can help also Chinese defense when the time comes. A BD, strong in air defense, serves the interest of China because only a strong BD can deny Indian jets flying over its air space to NE in times of war. On the contrary, a weak BD will be forced to bend backward by India.

Time for BD to place itself on the queue to get some J10s hopefully.

BD needs to form a strong relationship with china to maintain her sovereignty. BAF needs urgent attention and china has been our time tested friend and there is no reason why it should not continue.
