Pit stop: Chocolate doughnuts for Kerry in Islamabad

Nobody made a conspiracy out of it in the first place except Monsieur Gambit himself...probably feeling the need to be proactive against us "Muslams"

Yet you make generalizations on us filthy Pakis.

.

Did he write anything hostile comment? Did he ridicule Kerry? Did he make fun of him?

All he did was post a friggin news item.
I do not recall exactly who, but it was a member of the admin staff because his handle was red colored, who started a thread about how Americans became lazy and faux sophistication because of prepared food.

I asked myself: Is that unique to America ?

Every country that I have traveled to and interacted with the locals, and the country have indoor plumbings, electricity, and refrigeration, all wanted the convenience of prepared food. Entire industries evolved from this want/need. How many lives saved from food borned illnesses thanks to the technology of prepared foods ? How much more productive people in these countries became because they no longer have to spend time to cook ? Food preparation is now an option, not a must, for many, and even became a leisure instead of a need. And yet the guy had to make to try to put Americans in as negative a portrayal as possible using this really petty issue.

A 'generalization' is about an expected behavior/trait that while is not common to all members inside the group, the odds of that behavior/trait to occur for any member of that group to be preeminent. I do not need to generalize about the people on this forum. You guys -- from all backgrounds -- are doing it to yourselves just fine.

Now if Mr. Kerry's culinary choices in each of his visits are tracked, may be we can figure something important out. Remember how people used to interpret the brooches worn by Madeline Albright on her trips? :D
She could have dressed like the local women do, the 'uncultured old hag'.

Kerry is from Massachusetts and Dunkin Donuts is a local business - started out and headquartered there. Visiting the foreign franchises/partners of such businesses is the sort of thing American politicians do; Kerry was a senator long before he was Secretary of State.

You beat me to it. You guys don't understand that by "home" he means Massachusetts not the USA.

Dunkin' Donuts - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Headquarters: Canton, Massachusetts, United States"

How about: 'Make the local food'.

Kerry found an American treat in Pakistan and he made a stop. What is the big deal ? If a Pakistani come to America and he eat at a Pakistani restaurant to see if it tastes the same as his hometown, would you call him a 'bastard' for not eating at McDonald's ?

Oh come on! Why would you use that word? Kerry did a nice thing and he must be applauded for it. Its part of diplomacy and it leaves a lasting impression.

My bro asked him, sir do you like Pakistani food? Cameron Munter replied, yes i love it, and i will be having more of it because i am heading to Islamabad as the next US Ambassador to Pakistan! Yikes!

I was like......wow......look at the world man.
I am not sure if biryani is pakistani food to begin with.... ;)
