The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has released its own projection of political personalities that could take over command as the prime minister during the next 10-15 years.

The PILDAT analysis is based on the promise and potential that the people on their list have shown. The compilation has been produced as a book, and has helped highlight the role that those enlisted can play.

The list includes (in alphabetical order)
  1. Ahsan Iqbal,
  2. Aitzaz Ahsan,
  3. Asad Umar,
  4. Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari,
  5. Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari,
  6. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari,
  7. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan,
  8. Hamza Shahbaz,
  9. Hina Rabbani Khar,
  10. Humayun Akhtar Khan,
  11. Imran Khan,
  12. Ishaq Dar,
  13. Khurram Dastagir Khan,
  14. Liaqat Baloch,
  15. Marvi Memon,
  16. Maryam Nawaz,
  17. Mushahid Hussain Sayed,
  18. Omar Ayub Khan,
  19. Shah Mehmood Qureshi,
  20. Shahbaz Sharif and
  21. Shazia Marri.

The people on the list have been judged in terms of the role that they play within their respective party. Their level of engagement with the masses and charisma, along with demonstrated ability to be a part of the government at any level, etc.

Data used to develop the volume has been taken from many different outlets including official websites, publications, social media etc. In some cases interviews were also conducted to get the right kind of information.

The future of Pakistan largely depends on the leaders that the people choose. The top 20 options paint an interesting picture for the country.

. . .
Can I ask Why?
If not for his unwavering loyalty to Bhutto and the association with PPP. The man is VERY balanced in his opinions even when his superiors in the PPP are being the beghairat's that they are. Loyalty is a flaw in this case , but a more learned man in both politics and international nuances .. not to mentioned extremely polished does not exist on that list.

Except ..............

.
Well, all things considered. Our founding father wasnt much of a religious man either till the very end and as such relied on others to lead him in religion.
The fact also goes true for Bhutto, whatever one says about him.. he was an effective ruler for his early stint anyway and especially in diplomacy(if not his local policies).

If you look at the LIST.. A A still leads the pack.

2,7,9,13 and 20 have done good work internally and externally (foreign dealings), so their extensive dealings with other countries, it can be a big plus point from a diplomatic standpoint. But the 2nd and the 9 need to be independent or within another party focused on Pakistan, not their bank accounts.

Number 19 might work well too, specially from an international standpoint, but internal Pakistani politics, no one knows if he'll come up.

Why must we look at the list? Why can't someone besides these tried and tested good for nothings? Why can't we have some one Honest, Dedicated and God Fearing?

9 - was as dumb as you can get. Ask someone in the Foreign Office, what she did at the GCC conference in Abu Dhabi when she was FM.

Haye maulana oscar jiyala.

On a serious note, what about Hoodbhoy? No politician but he's got brains.

She wasn't dumb. I've known her since she did schooling from UMASS and from before. She was put onto a power seat which required a LOT of existing foreign policy and leadership experience so she struggled initially and she was very young compared to majority of the FM's around the globe. Part of the issue was her leaders, when you have leaders behind you like Zardari and co., you are bound to fail.

Had she been a part of NS or IK's team, she'd been better off. But overall she's a smart lady, very well educated and knows her stuff. She should've been given a Deputy FM post first, and above her, a polished FM was needed. A term after, she'd make a great FM. She also comes from a Business background, instead of political sciences (went to LUMS and then to UMASS for Business Management), so it would naturally take time to come up to speed on Political Science as it exists in the West.

This is one of the reasons, I'd actually support Reham Khan, if she ever ran for a PM of Pakistan role (granted she becomes a Pakistani first and then shows leadership), and IK drops his negative politics and does something positive for the country.

.
Who are we kidding here???

Its going to be between 4,6,8 and 16 !

.
I'd vote for Asad Umar. Two terms under Asad Umar will set Pakistan on the right path to realise its true economic output.

A good finance minister, nothing more
She wasn't dumb
maybe a foreign minister, not PM not experienced enough
If not for his unwavering loyalty to Bhutto and the association with PPP
that is a very big if.
As for all the children of politicans it is sad if they can even be considered with the minimal experience they have. We need a leader with charisma, look how the current COAS has lifted a nation up. We need a leader like that in a civilian person, strong and resolute, with a clear action plan. This list really provides no one near that calibre IMO

My friend, she was invited for a conference in which she would have been the only non-GCC individual. What did she do? Instead of attending the conference in Abu Dhabi, she was shopping in Dubai. This is my eye witness account, not somebody's phoopa told me!

Itnae baray bhashan say pehale, as usual, kuch tahqeeq karliya karo!!!
