A pig's head buried under a Christian cross along with several offensive inscriptions have been found at the future site of a mosque in southern Belgium.


The inscription “Muhammad lies here” was among the Islamophobia-fueling slogans found at the French-speaking Charleroi city, AFP reported.

According to a statement released by Xavier Godefroid from the mayor's office on Tuesday, the opponents of the construction of the mosque have left many “unacceptable, intolerable and disrespectful” messages at the site.

Godefroid added that the city's police have begun an investigation into the case.

The rise in anti-Islamic and racist behavior in European nations such as France has attracted worldwide attention.

In a debate about the role of Islam in the French society, Interior Minister Claude Gueant referred to the number of Muslims in France as "a problem."

Paris had earlier declared that any woman -- French or foreigner -- who wears a niqab or burqa (an Islamic headdress) in public will be fined 150 euros, and those that force women to wear such covers will face a much larger fine and a prison sentence of up to two years.

Europe is becoming more and more islamophobic everyday. There are several reasons for it. I would think Muslims are better in US than european countries if this continues.

Well sure. May be. I doubt it. 'Hindus' never had issues with host countries. They don't claim they are from superior religion that everyone has to follow their rules and their customs. Most Indians maintain low key about their religion. But yes tomorrow we might have issues but I am damn sure they are not going to be based on religion, race may be. Well India is developing too, they could just go back there. But this is highly unlikely because Indians are model minorities in most of these countries. Lets see whats gonna happen.

^ Up until 9/11 even Muslims didn't have problems with their host countries and we never ever told anyone to follow OUR rules, whatever they are. It's these so called democrats who force others with democracy while their so called freedom of speech is turning into freedom of insults.

Most Indians maintain low key about their religion. But yes tomorrow we might have issues but I am damn sure they are not going to be based on religion, race may be. Every community has experienced some form of discrimination overseas.

Once it was the Blacks, then it was the Jews, then it was the Asians, then it was the Mexicans, etc.

If you can call 2000 years of persecution and an ultimate eradication of half the race a problem, then sure, we had a problem with the lovely Europeans.
