First I will start with UAVs already in the making although not entirely 100% Saudi but it is a step in the right direction:

The UAV Luna made under license in General Organization for Military Industries:

You can clearly see its logo along with some sort of a UAV squadron for the RSAF behind it.

An earlier picture of it before it was completely done in Saudi Arabia

An Earlier prototype of a 100% Made in Saudi Arabia UAV (Considered the Saudi first try)

A rare picture of a Saudi UAV under research (Looks primitive as well)

A somewhat mature UAV on display this one looks more professional

This news article says there is a cooperation signed between KSU and Al-Salam Aircraft industries to manufacture UAV with all its parts.

Arabian Aerospace - Selex Galileo signs double radar deal with Saudi technology city
This one says we got the PicoSAR radar Technology which is generally used in UAVs.

These are just rays of hope for good things to come Inshallah.

Wouldn't be better if Saudis could team up with Pakistani organizations like , AWC , NESCOM and Integrated Dynamics to develop UAV's jointly of all sizes ie tactical , MALE and if works well work on a HALE platform ?

All above organizations are suffering from lack of funding and interest , yet have proven their capabilities over the years by making Pakistan next to independent in UAV production. Or should i say we do export UAVs too.

I guess working on their own wouldn't be a good option for either one , i would like to see a joint Turkish-Saudi-Pakistani HALE UAV development program in progress.

Turkey and SA are to far ahead of Pakistan for Pakistan to be of much use to them.

Unless Pakistan can make a financial contribution coming into the project late, they cant see no use for them.

Anyway most likely Pakistan will buy Chinese UAV anyway.

Co-operation is never a bad thing. And a Pakistani-Turkish-Saudi partnership for a UAV will hit the spot just right....Armed UAVs that is.

You know what, looking at KSA's recent achievements, I have a feeling of admiration towards Saudis that I've never had before. You are on the right track, and just get rid of your backward sectarian Wahhabi clerics, and KSA will be a nation that everyone will admire. With all your oil you can do great things.

We did get rid of those. Many clerics lately have been cleaned out of the system. There are even Saudi Shia clerics working in the Haram Shareef to help other Shias do their umra and hajj.
