Railway police of Henan's capital, Zhengzhou, have taken the lead nationwide in employing picture-matching glasses to identify criminals and the use of other people's ID cards for the 2018 Spring Festival travel rush, reports people.com.cn.

Police officers can use the identity matching software through the glasses to screen for criminals by sending the data back to a police data base.

Local police in Zhengzhou have already managed to capture 7 fugitives, as well as 26 people who attempted to illegally use others' identification cards.

Daily passenger flows at the Zhengzhou East Rail Station are expected to peak at 120,000 per day. All passengers are going to be screened at the station through the four entrances by officers equipped with the glasses.

.
A good use of the Google Glass technique.

Maybe in SP12.

China has its own AI-based face ID technology.

You could have said that without the sarcasm. I am not a RSSer.

And even you will acknowledge that the original idea ( without the AI ) was Google Glass.

I acknowledge that this Chinese technology is an innovation.

I remember a similar display at a conference in Japan last year about uses of 5G technology. The equipment of LEA would be linked to a central database as well as would be capable of picking between different behavior and mood patterns. Like, they would be able to pick out between a person who is appearing/behaving more anxious compared to the one who is more relaxed (probably using temperature, body movements etc.). It would transmit the data of last recorded behaviors and flag them for more monitoring if a person continues to appear anxious. Likewise, the person appearing anxious at a particular moment would be traced in the database for risk profile check etc. Was very fascinating all this.

A total of 20 robots with four different types are in use at the Shenzhen North Railway Station, Guangdong province, on Wednesday.

The robots could recognize criminal suspects among passengers through facial recognition technology, provide ticket inquiry services and monitor smoking.

Your acknowledgement is uncalled for. See you in 2020 :)

Very interesting, it could revolutionize that way to capture criminals on "the most wanted" list. US should buy this tech from China, or at least "steal" the tech.

Last year (2017) there was some 50 gun-related crimes across all of China as I read from a Xinhua report. I guess the number is not good enough and China's policy makers seek even a better society living in perfect peace (as much as possible) and harmony.

50 in one year for a whole country? China, you makes laugh! We have that many in one city for a weekend! :partay:

Because it is the land of the free.

Free to get some 50 million welfare checks and die in thousands on over-medication.

Free to be killed by a gun holding, bible toting terrorist.
