ISLAMABAD - The national airline will soon acquire twelve medium range aircraft in the PIA fleet. This was stated by PIA Chairman Lt Gen (r) Asif Yasin Mailk at PIA’s two- day Global Marketing Conference which concluded on Tuesday. The PIA chairman said that all employees have to work collectively for the betterment of the airline. He said that PIA has to increase its network to achieve better sales and advised the marketing department to prepare feasibilities on commercial basis for additional destinations while emphasising on increasing frequencies of its existing profitable routes. He said that PIA should look into possibilities of starting flights to the African continent. -

PIA to get first A-320 aircraft in June

ISLAMABAD - The first Air Bus A-320 will join the fleet of the national airline in June, while PIA will get four A-320 aircrafts by the end of this year. PIA sources said that four medium capacities Air Bus A-320 are being added in the fleet for making up the shortage of aircrafts—the first one will arrive in June, the other two in August, while the forth one in November. All these aircrafts are being taken on dry lease. Sources further said that the process of giving training to the pilots on new planes is in progress.

I think 5 ATR-72s and 5 ATR-42s are the best aircraft especially the new 600 series and even replace or sell the older ATR-42s to other operators. I think if PIA will order it then its possible for PN as well to go for about 11 ATR-72s and 7 ATR-42s MPAs with equipment from EU then it will good for the whole support team.

A320s are coming around July, so why this tender?

I think PIA forgets the tenders it previously opens.
