What's new

PIA record rise in revenue; up to 45%

Good news... would need 2-3 years of concerted effort to turn a profit

.
This increase in revenue is not limited to Pia only ,this year many private companies also have rise in revenue but expenses also have risen in much bigger proportion and profitably has decreased as a whole

. . .
Use google, but kindly dont interpret it like how you interpret economics, because the later will be disastrous like the former.:-)
Correct use google...u are claiming that google is wrong and this is dats manipulation ..good advise

Only an idiot can think that PIA can make profit with that debt..normally airline shouldn't exist with that debt but pia has unlimited credit

With unlimited credit comes unlimited interest payment

Then fools should not jump around unless the revenue has positive effect on P&L. Your point of argument being single and evident , We would keep lying and misleading people here.

If PIA owns 420 billion in debts, it also hold hundreds of billions in assets as well. For example Roosevelt Hotel currently worth approx (165 billion pkr) they own similar properties in other countries as well , Spread full information so people here can have a better picture. As i said earlier the chooran you are trying to sell to people here is not worth it. Regards!

Ppp destroyed PSM. Read an article years ago, how political appointments drained a profitable business, by overpaying for raw materials. Billy Bhutto family got their cut. No wonder there was opposition to privatisation.

U do have brains..so inability to analyze a simple difference between assets and interest payment on loan means u have buried your head in sand
If the NYC hotel values 10 b$ it has no meaning if its not making much profit

PIA should sell it & use the money to pay its debts...

As if its your choice not to consider billions of dollars of assets and the profits it can generate, but readily consider point out all the Loans and Interest payments . Now who is burying his head where ? I never talked about interests and payments in first place ,you did, to prove what ? this money is not borrowed yesterday it is decades of accumulated debt and the interest is being paid from years and is increasing? Didn't this government promised to fix these problems? Keh koi naya khwab dekha hay tumnay ?

Say that we are ready to do a rolla about paying interests but we are not ready to talk about own incompetence that we cannot generate profits from billions of dollars of assets same as former governments. Plus its HALAL to dance about increase in revenue to tell people all is well and we are very competent. But its a sin to talk about the effect of this on our profit and loss ? Because that will expose the reality of munafqat. What a pity!

I simply asked what is the effect of this increased revenue on the overall profit and loss of PIA, which you did not answer ? There is no need to go round and round. The question is simple so should be the answer. Otherwise no need to dance.

According to the media source, the performance of PIA was above expectations. As in the last six months, PIA generated revenue of Rs63 billion. While the revenue generated in the last six years was only Rs43 billion. This is a massive improvement while comparing the performance with the previous six years.

Cutting Expenditure
PIA achieves the milestone by cutting unnecessary expenses up to Rs3 billion. The expenditure reduces to Rs1.70 billion by the current administration of the organization and chief executive officer Arshad Malik.

SAT Factor
Further says the sources, that income increases up to 43pc over every kilometer. Whereas, when it comes to SAT factor PIA’s earning hikes up to 84pc in the current year.

It is relevant to refer here that the SAT factor of PIA had been recorded up to 77 percent. However, the national banner bearer held its lead in IATA’s [International Air Transport Association] SAT factor this year.
