Once Military / Government will tackle the Tanker Mafia in Karachi ....and their illegal money operation we will also recover 800-900 million dollar enough money to build any damn in 5 years

When a plane files , the cost of fuel is recovered from sale of just 5-10 airplane seats
So every flight makes a Profit which flies from airport


Typical Airplane Pakistan has there are 100-150 seats or more

If you have sold out 174 seat plane , and 10 seats recover fuel cost ...that means you made pure profit on 160 seats , plus you made extra money on baggage fees

People who have been telling Pakistani Nation stories all the money goes into fuel are just lying


Boeing states that under regular conditions, the 777-200LR should cost around $9,750.00/hour to operate, with the 777-300ER at a cost of $10,250.00/hour to operate. In a two class configuration this is around $32.39/hour per seat for the -200LR and $27.12/hour per seat for the -300ER.

How much PIA charges for Flights to UK or Canada 1200-1500 dollars
  • Cost of fuel 27 per hour from each passenger
  • $270 for 10 hour flight fuel cost for 1 passenger
  • Still almost 1000+ dollar profit per seat

Easy to see PIA making 1200 per seat on Canada route (250 fuel cost per passenger removed)
Easy to see PIA making 700 per seat on UK route (150 fuel cost per passenger removed)


As long as free tickets are not given out it will continue to make massive profits

The national flag carrier on Sunday announced that it will discontinue its flights to Tokyo, Japan owing to financial losses.

With Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) buried in increasing debt, the airline’s management has decided to suspend flights from Beijing to Tokyo from February 15.


Following the closure of the route, PIA flights will be restricted to Beijing.


Mashood Tajwar, the airline’s spokesperson, said the step has been taken in view of incurring an annual loss of Rs300 million from its Tokyo flights.


PIA saves Rs20m a month through austerity steps


Tajwar added that the route has been discontinued to cut down on PIA losses.


Last year, the airline had suspended its operations to Kuwait and Salalah, Oman. The decision followed the suspension of flights to New York, where PIA said ran into heavy losses.

Both example (Karachi-Toronto) , (Karachi -UK ) flights 80% was profit , about 20% was cost of fuel if we assumed that ratio is same on all seats and 5 month

I rounded up to 80-20 ratio , 80% is profit and 20% cost of ticket is reserved for fuel


In 5 months ....
800 million x 0.80 = 640,000,000 (640 million Dollars profit) , before salaries are paid which should be not that much


What would be cost for salaries ?
40 million - 50 million ?

So sad they couldn't fix PIA before they pulled out of JFK airport in New York and lost their slot. A Direct Flight from New York to either Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi would gain back so many Pakistani passengers that have to use other airlines like the gulf carriers.

PIA has invested in 12 Boeing 777 while if it wasn't able to handle flying to Canada or America, it could have focused on planes more optimized for flight to Europe, Asia, and the middle east. Even the Prime Minister is flying on the smallest possible jet to get the job done, and not taking up a PIA A320 or Boeing 777 for diplomatic missions.

Looking at the leaner business operations of an Airlines like Biman Airlines. We can see where they fly and what they fly. While they Also operate B777 (they have returned to JFK after a decade of losing their slot) they can optimize future purchases for planes like the A220 based on how full a plane goes per trip, and how much demand there really is.

Also Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi need to rebuild links between the airports and the Bus and Train Networks. This will allow passengers traveling to make quick connections to their destinations via land transport, rather than waiting on a PIA domestic flight sometimes nearly 24 hours later. Linking between PIA and local carriers will also help earn business, as well as Linking PIA with Foreign Carriers. PIA service of Islamabad to Istanbul's large new airport, while Turkish Passengers fly via PIA through Islamabad on wards to east Asia, sort of like a budget Airline or an airline focused on bring in tourists like the gulf carriers are moving towards or Icelandic airlines.

Creative thinking can help PIA scale up, especially with all the infrastructure work already done in the Islamabad area, not just the airport.

  • Pakistan Railways is reporting Profits (more figures promised after 12 month mark)
  • Pakistan Airlines is reporting Profits
  • Gas for Textile Sector is revived (Punjab....lower gas prices promised)
  • Sui Gas and other institute heads removed for their lack of initiative

  • Which leaves us with Pakistan Steeles Mills (Recent focus based on current news)
