PIA Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing At Karachi Airport

An international Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight made an emergency landing at Karachi airport earlier today.

The Toronto-bound flight PK-789 had flown from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday morning.


PIA sources suggest that the Boing-777 plane, carrying more than 300 passengers, developed a ‘technical fault’ while it was in the vicinity of Karachi airspace.

The pilot contacted the nearby air traffic control and was allowed to land at the Jinnah International Airport.

However, the detail of fault and the exact number of the passengers onboard is yet to be revealed.

In a similar incident, a Jeddah-bound PIA flight PK-759, with over 130 passengers on board, had to make an emergency landing after the pilot detected a fault in one of its engine.

The captain had to land the plane after fire alarms were set off in the cockpit and smoke coming out of an engine was visible.

The pilot wasted no time and landed the flight at Lahore airport after receiving permission from authorities. The plane was grounded for repair work, and the passengers were departed to Jeddah via an alternative flight.

News bhi to dukan hai bhai logon ki... Since Propakistani has been acquired by an unnamed firm/investor, their quality and reliability has gone down seriously in the last one month. Although they have expanded their grounds with sports and other segments...

Not really. I have been noticing more PIA incidents occuring recently which is not good.

Nope, it’s just a psychological effect and convince of you agreeging to your hypothesis of PIA having more issues lately. Which is not the case. Having high emergency landing rate can have extremely high probability in a single given day and least probability in even a decade. So this has no relation with what you are believing

AVM Arshad Malik is gem of a man, ambitious and hard working, i am sure, if he dedicated himself more & more, gets the workforce in right order, PIA will soon be taking off in world ratings and demand. PIA is a big name that is a bit under the sand since some years, but it can come on top again...

every tom herry bashing PIA bro . today more then 1 lakh flights have been fly . so there are uncountable incidents daily . an indecent desnt mean fatal crash . hence in last 3 days some 5 aircraft crashed in world

PIA is loaded with extra staff. They have one out two options, pay the salaries to politically hired employees or spend money on aircraft maintenance. ... Siasi bhartian is big curse .

so in most of cases its N which is not worthy to be called incident at all . any pilot can land plane if he/she feel its something unusual is plane even if there is fly bee or rat he can declare emergency and land .

I work as an AME and i fix planes in Canada . Lion air was caused by the MCAS software on a boeing 737 max and it is currently grounded. When was the last time you heard Air Canada, West Jet or Porter airlines suffering any "technical fault" and returning to base other than Turbulence ? Even Serene Air is doing better than PIA.
