Asalaamelikum everyone, I'm interested in applying to the Air Force and would be grateful if someone could tell me what is the exact constituent of the PAF physical test. Is it exactly like the army's or is it different and WHAT is it exactly, I've researched but I haven't been able to find it exactly. Thank you in advance.

It is almost same.

F.O.X. I got this from the joinpakarmy site:
PHYSICAL TESTS. Candidates are required to qualify following physical tests.
(1) 1.6 km Run - 9 Minutes.
(2) Push Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(3) Sit Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(4) Chin Ups - 2 Repetitions in 2 Minute
This is again for Psychologists. It's the same for PAF?

Why are all PT requirements so low in South Asia compared to other ones?
10 Push ups is 2 mins???!!!
1.6 kms in 9 mins?

come on thats ridiculous.

PS: I am not trolling, Indian standards are not tougher.

This is for Psychologists in the Army, not the general recruit, sir.

No this is not ridiculous. These are the basic requirements for initial selection along with initial medical and interview. Its purpose is just to filter out those candidates who have any kind of physical or mental disability at very start. If anyone have a physical problem he will not be able to complete even this standard. Like for example, 5kg over weight, you will not be able to do 2 chin-ups.

Because in Pakistan the number of candidates applying for forces numbered in thousands. When i applied at that time at just one recruitment center there were 14000 applications. After initial scrutiny, there are many other steps including a medical board, before a candidate is inducted.
Once in Academy, they know how to improve stamina and physical fitness standards. :azn:

Those may just be the entry level standards.

Once accepted and within a couple of months you can be certain it will be :

1.6 KM in 5 minutes

50 pushups in 2 minutes

100 situps in 2 minutes

10 chinups in 30 seconds

I know this because that is what we did at the Air Force Academy in Risalpur, Pakistan.

Sage, you've been in PAF? Can I talk to you? I've some queries. Thanks

I would be glad to answer any questions @jaibi although I was in the PAF long time ago ( 1969 to 1974 ) so I don't know how current my info will be.

Please check your inbox. I've messaged you.
