'Satpura`is a Sanskrit word,that means seven mountains(sat=seven;pura=mountain).

The name is of a mountain range in central India

(just from a quick wiki, take it for what it's worth)

Thanks, Abhi. Is that in the state of Uttar Pradesh? Again, thanks for the translation.

Malabar is a huge exercise....good for everyone especially in case of relief operation at the time of a natural disaster or fighting piracy.

And it comes at a time when we had a rude shock of a tsunami from Indonesia. Well, Malabar exercises boosts our capabilities to handle not only combat scenarios but also emergency responses.

We should do this more often.

What is the aircraft refuelling a super hornet in one of the pics in post 17?

And damn, that supercarrier is one hell of a machine. I don't know if there is more combat power packed into such a small area anywhere else on earth. Close to a hundred 4.5th generation fighters with top notch refuellers and AEWACs. That one ship can give a tough time to almost any air force on earth, performing every mission in air warfare.

Well its said that a single USN AC carries more aircrafts than many of the AFs & a single USN Carrier Group have more fire power than many countries (including nukes).
