The Pews research institute is an American organisation that monitors global attitudes. They go to different countries and find out the general attitudes of the populace to many things.

I found the 2010 survey carried out in Pakistan. 2000 people were sampled across four provinces and asked a variety of questions which were summarized.

Please don't just dismiss it as American crap, the Pews Centre is pretty reputable.

Not at all. There is quite a lot on our attitudes towards the US. Look again.

It is telling when 91% people think terrorism is the biggest problem and an equal percentage thinks lack of jobs is...quite indicative of what pushes the youth to terrorism in the first place.

Now their image may be beyond salvage in Pakistan, but it would be an important lesson learnt for the US to push the economic interests of a country they wish to make a Laos of rather than greasing its politicians' palms with 'aid'.

It shows Pakistani thinks India is the biggest threat, than taliban...

What can we say.... on the other hand here is a stat about threat perception in India. If you include both the threat from LET and Pakistan, it amounts to 75% in total. But the fact is that we have a larger threat from the religious extremism emanating from Pakistan rather than Pakistan itself.

This was the most surprising part of the survey for me..Pakistani majority's mentality seems very close to that of Taliban's.

The survey shows clearly where Zardari & Co stands. It's good to see that majority of people support influence of Military, Religious Leaders, Media and Judiciary as they all are playing a positive role.
