Meteors are awesome. A few years back, the news was discussing what they called a "Meteor STORM." The number of meteors was expected to be so high, they called it a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I packed my family into a mini-van, we drove out to the desert, and parked. At the height of the storm, there were about 3 meteors per second. It was incredible. Even a heavy meteor shower rarely exceeds 1 or 2 a minute.
