There is an old saying in Chinese "夏虫不可以语冰", which means you can never talk about ice with an insect which only lives in summer because it's too hard to them to understand.

Bcs CN gave up growing high quality rice ( 1 time crop per year) and grow low quality rice ( 2 times crop per year),thats why ur grain output is high.

But u still have to import jasmine rice from VN cos rich Cnese Simply cant eat CN low quality rice.

First,more than 40% Chinese have wheat as staple food.(this means more than 560 million,five times VN population)
Second,more than half of China's rice is one time crop.
Why import VN rice..very simple...cheap

My favorite is "WuChang Rice", one of the best rice in China.
But I don't see rice as my staple food.
I prefer "mantou" and noodles.

I like jasmine rice the best of the east asian varieties. A nice delicate fragrance...it also retains moisture quite well (if you keep in fridge for leftovers etc) which is a good convenience worth the extra price imo for me...coz I like to cook in large batches in general.

Highest quality rice is matter of debate, I prefer lot of Indian varieties, but likely because I grew up with those. Lot of folks like to say basmati is the best for western palate.

And I can't see any IQ on you, obviously you don't know northeast China is China's major crop-producing areas. I don't know how low a person's IQ can be to believe grow two season crop in northeast China.
