This is a public stunt of course a demonstration. As absurd as this is, it's true you must have a permit to sell and/or set up a commercial service i.e. in this case lemonade stand. D.C is strict about this and as the video shows enforces it harshly. However, other areas in the country are similar.

There is a lot more to the law and it's rationale which I don't want to get into. Established businesses like restaurants, parlors, shops afaik do support this law as it restricts any individual that may easily make profit without having to follow the same guidelines as the aforementioned stores have to.

PS The attitude and action of the female police officer was most likely inappropriate she should not have touched the camera, and technically he can record her and photo her since it's a public area (afaik)...

An American can better comment on it... I don't think these cute ladies intention was to sell Lemonade, they were protesting at some issue (may be). The police women took her in preventive custody.

Any American please...

Incorrect, the police officer(s) did not take them into "preventive custody", in US there is something called being "detained" not "preventive custody", "arrest" and "detained" are two different things. The Officer's clearly used the command "You're under arrest", which indicates arrest and not "detained" or as you put it "preventive custody"...

Irrespective of their "intent" which is unclear, the fact of the matter is they had set up a stand, and were "selling" lemonade charging money in this case 10 cents, in an area which requires a permit to do so.

Also as the Police Officers in the video clearly stated you need a permit, and when they were asked about a permit they did not present one nor possessed one. That is the law violated here, according to police.

Retard nation , what can you expect

....................................

Americans sound very stupid when they talk about so called "freedom" all the time. Yes,America have liberties and freedom--Ok cool who cares? It's America and for Americans its good. Some American kids are so brainwashed that they think that we (all other countries) are "jealous" of 'American freedoms?'

All Chinese,Pakistani,Indian/Malaysian,Russian members ...when were you thinking of American freedom last time (and getting sad that you're country doesn't have that freedom)? lol ..There are many, many things in America to admire,no doubt but some Americans need to realize that "American way" is not "the best way" in the world.
American way is best for Americans and Chinese way is best for China etc.

At least they didn't switch religion, that would get them death!....oh...wait....

You can have a lemonade stand. Just certain areas like public parks they enforce this. The reason being is people put up comercial stands with no saftey (remember those Chinese that died from the contaminated vinegar? This is why we have less of that).
Of course, the cops can't be picking and choosing how to enforce this, or Pablo would complain to the authorities about selective enforcement.

.
Haha loosers. What did they achieve by selling lemonade.

.
Publicity stunt and thats what theyve certainly got.btw 10 cent lemonade? wonder what the profit margin was?!
