Pentagon F-35 Cancellation

Sorry Sir you are 100% wrong by saying they have also invited India, as they have not invited Indian's at any corner of the program and if they wish to sell it to India at a cost of $120 Million a piece then they will going to place an big order too.

Although the last option for US is to bring India as just a Customer for this F-35 program and offer them 100 of each plane type and I am more than 100% sure that IAF and IN will going to buy it like:
100 F-35As
100 F-35Bs
100 F-35Cs

and this can easily secure their beloved program.

But the tell me the current cost of:
F-35As
F-35Bs
F-35Cs

F-35 was offered to India after F-18, F-16, and Typhoon lost out to Rafale in MMRCA deal. But no further discussion happened as we were clearly not interested in F-35. For a stealth fighter we are already in advanced stage of development of PAK FA/FGFA jointly with Russia. And F-35 doesn't fit into our requirement of multirole aircraft as F-35 is more optimized for A2G roles.

And ToT was a condition of MMRCA, what made you think that India will buy F-35 only as a customer; and that too you are more than 100% sure!

And to be honest, in crucial defense deals like frontline fighters; we trust Russians & French more than anyone else.

Idiotss!!! :hitwall: :hitwall: :hitwall:. It's shameful that Turkey is one of that 10 nations.

We should accept the offer of BAe, to go with Eurofighters with ToT. But again, our magnificant sultan's goverment refused it :hitwall:

@Neptune, did Turkey suffer a huge financial loss because of this possible cancellation ?

If so, does anyone know how much this loss is in USD ?

No. Turkey's contribution to the JSF program are, the glass cockpit system developed by TAI/Aselsan/Havelsan. Which gave us successful test results. But due to the problems of JSF. We postponed our order. We were supposed to recieve first 2 F-35A this year. But we postponed the early order to 2015 which consists 14+2 lets, so there won't be any early orders. Just one order. 116 F-35A and 12 F-35B :bad:.

Will this program be sold to EU on a small cost??

JSF development is being principally funded by the United States with additional funding from partners. The partner nations are either NATO members or close U.S. allies. The United Kingdom, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Norway, Denmark, and Turkey are part of the development program. These countries agreed to contribute US$4.375 billion towards development costs. Total development costs are estimated at more than US$40 billion (underwritten largely by the United States)

There goes UK's future carrier aircraft .... likewise for Italy?

We in NL just got our first jet delivered recently (One aircraft delivered, a second completed undergoing factory tests until September 2013. Both F-35s based in Florida with one to take part in testing program) ....

I don't really know why this kind of "RUMOR" is still circulating now, this year is 2013. Dial back to 2005, if the news come cancel I will understand. Back then we did not spend even half of what R&D and production line cost. Now you meant to say we pay for EVERYTHING (Research, Parts, Assembly Lines and etc) and Scrap the whole thing??

People calling for the whole thing to be scrap because they TOOK (Note: past tense) way a lot of money and yet achieve not much (Only a hundred or so aircraft is produced). So they want to cancel the whole thing just to Affirm that we spend all that money for absolutely NOTHING instead??

The bulk of the money we spend had already spend in the last 10 years, by cancelling the project we would not get the money back, the only way we can salvage some of the money back is by putting the F-35 to work and trying to sell it overseas. It will not make sense if they cancel the program now, that when we spend all the money they need already.

The JSF program has long entered the final phase of experimental production, will hit FRP in the next 2 years. It's quite an odd time if pentagon decided to cancel now. People have half a brain would have think of that..

I am sure India can easily buy 100 of each type as they are really in need of such fighters becasue of slow LCA progress and no more near introduction of MCA.

In MMRCA, there were talk about possible purchase of F-35A and Bs but USA refused it. And I am sure there would be something in wraps between USA and India which we will going to see in coming months.

For now we are looking towards:
100s Apache deal
20 more C-17s
18 more P-8Is
some C-130Js for Air force...

So there is some orders, but can Turkey just back away for purchase and maintian it self as a parts supplier???

Although Turkey is looking in to its own program which I think Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Oman should join in.
