Taliban supporters always refer to 'glorious peace' during Taliban regime. This issue was subject matter of yesterday's ARY talk show. Hassan Nisar's argument was the most convincing.

He said --- "Peace" during Taliban regime was the "Peace of Graveyard".

I have found his point so solid and accurate so just want to invite discussion on this issue.

Regards!

Can you elaborate?

My logic is: Ok. Lets assume it was like a graveyard. Isn't a peaceful graveyard, with NO CRIME, NO DRUGS, NO DEAD BODIES being found daily, NO TARGET KILLINGS and strikes better than a busy market with LOADS of crime, killings, target killing, police ghunda gardy, missing persons, mobile snatching, drugs, strikes etc etc? I agree their were no parties, tv etc etc.. but maybe with time they would have progressed?

Also, read this on BBC: Maj. Gen. Nick Carter told the BBC on Thursday that before the 2001 invasion, women could travel alone in the southern part of Afghanistan. He says "you could put your daughter on a bus in Kabul sure in the knowledge that she would get in one piece to Kandahar."

ask hasan nisar, Can you do the same in Pakistan?

have you ever heard of the masacars of civilians in the villages and cities by the taliban? destructions of people's houses, farm, orchard etc by the Taliban? if not, then i cant help you.

.
No. I havent heard that ahmad bhai. But lets suppose that I had, I have also heard PAK army doing the same thing. I've also heard the US army doing the same thing. I've also heard about MQM doing the same thing in karachi.. so the solution is to bomb them all including civilians and impose your system?

Taliban brutalized its own people due to its ideology. They had no hope of living in better way. Dont compare them to a professional army which by and large adheres to rules of engagement and bound by international law.

hassan nisar is nothing, his views about allama iqbal too were pathetic

ask nissar sahab, peace is peace whether it is graveyard or not, people are not killed in graveyard, what about present peace in afghanistan when afghanistan is subject to enormous drug trafficking and poppy growth

. . .
they used physical punishments like flogging and killing as a tool to grab all the voices against them.their so called judges and police were same i-e a single force was doing both jobs.I can assure you if u give same power to our police and a five year tenure to a police officer in a single area then we can erradicate the crimes in any part of our country.
