Appreciate the kind mention. I still consider myself a student though of Pakistani history (my primary interest in matters relating to Pakistan). Maybe in 20ish years, when I am older and wiser

Thank you for honoring me such a way, although my literary skills are still at a novice level. I am already working on an unrelated project.

If I do decide to write a book on Pakistan, it will likely be based on a historical event, or area or people. I believe it is the most neglected part in our society. We seem to overlook our heroes and prefer foreign ones.

No doubt. It is one of the major reasons I believe for a sense of lack of identity in our nation today. Foreign heroes are worshiped because local ones are forgotten. Ask a kid on the street of Lahore or Rawalpindi about Ahmed Khan Kharral or Sultan Sarang Khan, and they wont have an idea. Ask about Mohammad bin Qasim and every kid will know. Not that there is anything wrong in learning about bin Qasim, undoubtedly he opened an important chapter in our history, but why we dont care about our own heroes, is simply beyond me!

Because the powers that be have decided that we must stake a link with the "pure" characters in our past, and not the "impure" ones. Which is of course stupidity, even the Arabs still remember great Pre-Islamic characters and consider them their heroes, but we have been taught that our history only begins from a foreign invasion, as if before we were not even humans.

I have written a book about the WOT in Pakistan. That was my first book. But getting published is a very difficult thing. Its no longer you write the book and you are done with your problems forever. You have to make publishers/literary agents ready to sell it.
