Paul Nixon alleges India-Pak Kotla ODI fixed
Cricketnext Staff, Cricketnext.com | 06-Jan 20:14 PM

New Delhi: Former England wicketkeeper Paul Nixon on Sunday suggested that Pakistan players deliberately threw the dead rubber ODI against India at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Sunday.

"Pakistan throwing this game away eh. Watch this space. Pakistan will just loose last few balls," he tweeted during the latter half of Pakistan's collapse, which saw the visitors lose their last six wickets for 38 runs, including 2 for 12 in the batting Powerplay, to give India a consolation victory.

When one of his followers asked Nixon whether he was alluding that the match had been rigged, the 42-year-old tweeted, "r u watching the game???" He further retweeted several tweets, including these two: "this game is a joke especially when u see hafeez play a lap sweep with a leg slip in place" and "It must be India's 12th Man.....the Bookmaker!"

Nixon, who played 19 ODIs and one Twenty20 international for England in 2007, including the World Cup in the Caribbean, went on to suggest that it was no big deal for Pakistan to throw the final match of the series when they had already clinched the series. "2-0 up perfect to loose nothing matters," he tweeted in reply to a follower who questioned his assertion. Nixon used hashtags like #somethingnotright and #dodgey.

India pulled off an unlikely victory in the third ODI by beating Pakistan by 10 runs after scoring just 167. The visitors won the first two ODIs by six wickets and 85 runs respectively.

You took the series guys!! and this much heart burn over a match?? Good that India lost the series, otherwise some people would have committed suicide

.
SO how many Pakistani players sold out?? no wonder they and PCB were desperate to play against India. desperate for some moolah which the match fixers pay them. - I bet it's fully syndicated with PCB receiving it's share too.

. . .
LOL.
The problem with our players is that they make the whole fixed thing too obvious. You can tell just by watching their faces.

But India's bowling attack can not be denied either. Shami and Sharma could well be the next big ones for their team.

.
I dont think so. @RazPaK u should be seeing this !!! Ur order of match fixing pattern have been completely neglected here.

And Pakistani bowlers bowled superbly today. Do u think their batsmen will throw away like these? If they had wished, they would have asked their bowlers to bowl poorly. Not give in like this.

Junaid was the pick of the bowlers. A talent to look after in future

India has failed to live up to the expectations in the last year, and with such batting line up it always amuses me how they lost the match chasing in the previous game.

.
Not a single man in the world can even dream that Pakistan will fail to chase 167 runs from the fragile and poor bowling lineup of India in the world.

.
British just have something against India , don't they ?

and Pakistanis will obviously lap it up , it makes them feel better.

When an Indian plays a poor shot and gets out , it was a mistake , but when a Pakistani plays a poor shot and gets out , its fixed

What hypocrisy

Dream or not , India did it today . thanks to their bowling performance today and the fielding :enjoy:

Exactly , if they wanted to lose , Pakistan would have never bowled the way they did . So obvious that some blind people dont wish to see

No doubt. Fielding was excellent. Easily saved around 30 runs. Still i will repeat, 167 is the mini target for poor bowling site.
Even Ireland type team can chase 323 runs against fragile bowling unit of India.

These days player don't fix matches , but boards do taking the betting money into consideration.

come on your bowling isn't that smashing too.

India scored 192 in the second T20 helped by Yuvraj's 10 sixes , the same man was closing his eye to incoming bouncers in the second oneday asif he had never faced fast bowlers in his life.

The behavior of other indian batsmen too were very suspicious in the second one played at kolkata.
