Passing out parade of 61st batch of Frontier Corps Balochistan was held at School of FC Training Centre in Loralai on Tuesday, a statement issued by the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), some 2,453 recruits, including 700 Baloch youngsters, have graduated.

Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, who was chief guest at the occasion, distributed awarded prizes among outstanding cadets of the course.

Agreed. The afghan border is the most dangerous in terms of insurgency and the threat over there is not from a well equipped strategical army but from terrorists both national and religious. Thus counter insurgency equipment is required to combat the security situation. Their tactics must also evolve as most use hit and run ( even the afghan army uses hit and run) over there.

We need to do three things to the FC.

1. We must increase their numbers so that the security burden on army regulars is decreased and the border is manned by FC. With increase in numbers we can make FC the qui k response force to combat border threats and terror threats.
2. Improve the equipment and gear so that they can combat the threats efficiently. Equipment is everything when dealing with modern security threats.
3. We must evolve their tactics to include and respond to terror tactics and insurgent tactics so that the losses can be minimized and counter insurgency can be more efficient. Without this, we will keep losing good men bcz they did not know what to do or what to expect. Our military wing has accumulated a vast amount of counter insurgency experience and tactics the likes of which the world has not seen. We must spread this to all departments especially FC.

The above is expensive but it is peanuts compared to the costs the terrorists will make us pay if we do not evolve.

How do you see the role of FC in counter insurgency and its importance to the security of pakistan and afpak border?

Also what changes do you guys envision and steps to be taken for their improvement and evolution?

It is but as a Pakistani if need arises we all can donate 500-1000RS i guess defence aur apne soldiers ke lye itna to kr skte hain hm.

Actually I fiddled with this idea before modi came with it which was to organize a charity for defence requirements and for retired personal funds. This would take a lot of burden off our defence budgets.

There is no shame in asking your people for help and its a lot better than taking military aid. With this money only love will come whereas with foreign military aid the only thing that will come will be more strings than a puppet.

In fact even for afpak border security and wall expenditure, I recommend tax to build it after all if the Chinese security is being paid by the people through electric bills then why not for border security which shall see pakistan more secure....

That would require out of box thinking something sadly neither politicians nor defence personal have.

Notables of the area, Students and a large number of FC and Civil officials attended the ceremony.
