This is not a mistake on our part. For whatever reason the Rohingya have not been able to integrate. I would say too that the majority of Rohingya would wish to be repatriated to Bangladesh. Why don't you make a concession like a grown-up and allow your displaced peoples to return to their homeland. Give them the choice of living in Bangla or Myanmar.
It is also interesting that 20 years democratic Bangladesh is a whole 7 places above military junta ruled Myanmar in the Global Failed States index (18 and 25). I think it's already a sign of our re-emergence that we have so far handled this affair reasonably and with the eyes of the world on us, there has been little in the way of criticism from the global community. I have already been critical of the Burmese response but why don't some of the BD community here accept that BD should atleast accept some refugees instead of pushing their boats back out into the Indian Ocean.
