Panicked Rohingyas entering Bangladesh

This is not a mistake on our part. For whatever reason the Rohingya have not been able to integrate. I would say too that the majority of Rohingya would wish to be repatriated to Bangladesh. Why don't you make a concession like a grown-up and allow your displaced peoples to return to their homeland. Give them the choice of living in Bangla or Myanmar.

It is also interesting that 20 years democratic Bangladesh is a whole 7 places above military junta ruled Myanmar in the Global Failed States index (18 and 25). I think it's already a sign of our re-emergence that we have so far handled this affair reasonably and with the eyes of the world on us, there has been little in the way of criticism from the global community. I have already been critical of the Burmese response but why don't some of the BD community here accept that BD should atleast accept some refugees instead of pushing their boats back out into the Indian Ocean.

I will let other members compare Bangladesh and Myanmar and we are both poor and hungry, there is no doubt about it, the difference is a matter of degree. But unless you are a RAW plant, you sound like an educated Myanmar Rakhine guy. And you are still pushing the same trash. They do not wish to be "repatriated", instead they just want to stay alive from the constant threat of persecution and ethnic cleansing.

I do not support pushing away people in need, that is our govt. action and they will answer for it. But why are they running away from their own country? Why do they have a situation like that? Because they are kalar and they are Muslim? Because they supposedly moved from Chittagong generations ago, according to you, which is not true for most of them according to their own and many other impartial historical account?

Tamils are an implant in Sri Lanka. What the Sri Lankans did against all the efforts of India is commendable. Sri Lankan is rehabing these ex LTTE snakes.

The key to this Rohinga situetion is held by China. Unfortunately the Chinese will not do anything. The only recourse is talking about it to keep the pressure on.

About Indian posting in bd section, please go around to other section(pakistan/turkey/Iran/India) sometimes and see what happens there. It will help you understanding how this foum works.

Article 28(1):

The State shall not discriminate against any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

Article 29(1) of Constitution:

There shall be equality of opportunity for all citizen in respect of employment or office in service of the Republic.

See, the difference between us and your Burmese friends is that we as a state do not officially discriminate against minorities. Whereas, the Burmese government officially does.

Sure, there may be some incidents in Bangladesh. But hey, which country doesn't have it's fair share of idiots and bigots? Even advanced Western countries have them.

They're a reasonably decent neighbour. Good guys. Our only Muslim neighbour. We looked towards expanding our empire in the Bengal with some success when Thailand and China were no goes but the pesky British were already there to thwart us. Bangladesh has never really been of that much importance really until this Rohingyas issue comes up and most recently the maritime border issue. We have no problems with the Bengalis except on the issue of taking back some of their peoples. I do get pretty angry when some Bangladeshis start advocating jihad but that's to be expected. I see no reason why we can't enjoy cordial relations as long as they respect our territory and don't preach too much about how we should treat the Rohingyas.

What attacks against Buddhists? I haven't heard of any on the news recently. And even if it happens, it is rare. Bangladesh is liberal compared to other Muslim-majority countries. But, we can work more on minority rights.
