PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women wing on Wednesday termed Aisha Gulalai’s scathing allegations against party chairman Imran Khan as a bid to gain cheap popularity, ARY News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, PTI’s women wing president Naeema Naz said they would call a Jirga on the matter if Gulalai did not withdraw her allegations of misconduct against party chairman Imran Khan.
“Seek pardon within a week otherwise, members of a Jirga would be sent to your [Gulalai] home as per traditions to seek evidences of your allegations,” she warned Gulalai.
Raising questions towards Gulalai, she said if the former PTI legislator received lewd messages in 2013 then why she had been silent on the matter.
Joining in conversation, another party MPA Zareen Zia claimed that Gulalai had hurled baseless and false allegations against Imran. “The party and its chief have always respected women,” Zia said, adding none of the party members have Blackberry Smartphone.
“There are 10 PTI MPAs in Khyber Pakhtunkwa assembly but none of them including the party chief has Blackberry,” she added.
MPA Zareen Zia, speaking in the press conference, claimed that Gulalai had levelled “baseless” and “false” accusations at the party chief.
Zareen noted that Gulalai wanted NA-1 ticket and on refusal she quit the party. “She had left two parties before PTI,” she added.
On Tuesday, Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, the MNA who announced to leave Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a press conference accused the party chief Imran Khan and his cronies of sending indecent text messages to female members.
Gulalai categorically rejected the PTI claim that she demanded party ticket to contest elections from NA-1, and said that there are several other reasons which led to the decision to leave PTI, one of which was indecent messages from Imran Khan and his cronies.
