NYT? Which supa powa is this thing? Like we care what U think or say. They would remain silent on the Broken Arrows, n number of lost soviet nukes and lots of WMDs but yeah would open their gutter against Pakistan regularly who has one of the comprehensive command control of its nuclear program.
Foot and a Half......Crisp reply from Pakistan.

The question is, since Pakistani nukes are only meant for the destruction of India, what is India doing about it? Trying to campaign against Pakistani nukes is not enough. India must become a part of the solution by proposing measures that prevent Pakistan from having any further excuse to proceed on this path. Barring Kashmir issue, there is no other issue between the parties that is not resolvable within the next year. At least Indian government should ensure that first?

Terrorism is the only issue. .The only threat Pakistan has is when there is another Mumbai like terrorist attack that gets tracked to Pakistan..Other then that..India does not have any territorial claims from pakistan.

And..I don't agree with the Pakistani nukes for India point completely...Most pakistani are more aggressive towards Israel and jews. Pakistani nukes are also projected as Islamic bomb or ummah bomb.

.
Pakistan is not merely a country but rather ideology with Kashmir and nukes being now integral part of this ideology.

.
why are the Pakistani posters forgetting that Pakistan was the prime aggressor in three of the four wars?

The Ummah bomb is a tactic to wrangle money out of Saudi Arabia. The military knows that if the rest of the wold seriously believed Pakistani nukes were meant for anyone else except India, they would react much more strongly. The only reason the international community is concerned about the nukes is because they might fall into the "wrong hands". If Indians themselves like to pretend that a nuclear armed neighbour that keeps threatening to nuke them every now and then means little, imagine the level of denial the world at large must be suffering from.

Pakistan can become 5th then 4th, then 3rd then 2nd....no one can so jack about it, Modi can pay to some journalists to write shit about Pakistan but it has been written before and Pakistan is only going forward with Nuke.

That is your opinion...and, I guess, opinion of many Pakistanis. India doesn't share that opinion. Nukes have made war a costly affair. There is more danger of rogue elements of Pakistan army smuggling nukes to terrorist groups that might use them aganist US , Europe and even on India

This is Pakistan army you are talking about not some Chadda brigade

.
Unless, US get some sort of control over Pakistan nukes that include limits to new nuclear bomb production, I don't see any nuclear deal between US and Pakistan.

USA has no need nor desire to control Pakistani nukes as long as they serve the purpose for which they were created, to keep the peace in the subcontinent. (That is why they were allowed to be developed in the first place.) Creating tactical weapons increases the risk of proliferation manifold for both Pakistan and the rest of the world. It remains to be seen what can be offered to Pakistan to have it consider not deploying them widely. The offer has to be good enough to interest Pakistan, whatever shape it might take. If Pakistan plays its cards right, it can get a good deal that will serve its national interests over the long term.

I agree..

So..India's effort to reduce tension will not stop pakistan accumulating the ummah bomb..and Indians aren't foolish enough to fall for that tactic.

Modi and the Hindu Hard-Liners
By THE EDITORIAL BOARDOCT. 14, 2015

Since he was elected in May 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India has been adept at appeasing his Hindu hard-line base while, at the same time, promising economic growth and development to a wider national and international audience. But that balancing act is in danger of teetering, imperiling not only the economic development Mr. Modi has promised but also India’s open, inclusive democracy.

The latest alarming sign of the Hindu right’s growing boldness was the Sept. 28 lynching of a Muslim man by an angry mob. The attack, which occurred in the village of Bisada, just 30 miles from India’s capital city, New Delhi, was instigated by local Hindu men, many linked to the governing Bharatiya Janata Party.

On the strength of a baseless rumor that a cow — considered sacred by Hindus — had been killed in the area and that a local Muslim family was eating beef, a furious mob descended on the family’s home, killing 52-year-old Mohammed Ikhlaq and severely injuring his son. Another son, Sartaj, an active member of India’s Air Force, admirably appealed for calm after the attack.

Although Mr Modi denied that his party had anything to do with the episode, his public aloofness as officials in his government and extremists across the country have aggressively pushed a Hindu nationalist agenda is partly to blame. So are the prime minister’s efforts to make cow slaughter a divisive political issue. During his election campaign Mr. Modi had warned Hindu voters that if the Congress Party gained control, it would expand a “pink revolution” of cow slaughter.

Last week, at a political rally in Bihar, where hotly contested state elections began on Monday, Mr. Modi slammed the opposition politician Lalu Prasad, suggesting he was possessed by a “devil” for “insulting” Yadavs, an important clan in Bihar, by suggesting they eat beef. In contrast, Mr. Modi boasted that “I come from the land of Gujarat,” where “people worship cows.”

Faced with mounting outrage at his silence on the brutal lynching, Mr. Modi finally managed to refer directly to the attack on Wednesday, calling it “sad” and “unwelcome.” In comments to a Bengali-language newspaper, he declared: “The B.J.P. has never supported such incidents.” This message is welcome but it comes late.

Mr. Modi should keep in mind the wise words of India’s president, Pranab Mukherjee, in an eloquent plea for sanity last week. “We cannot allow the core values of our civilization to be wasted,” Mr. Mukherjee warned, adding, “This civilization has celebrated diversity, promoted and advocated tolerance, endurance and plurality.”

I think, I remember you making the same argument some where else. India is 8 times larger than Pakistan so 1:1 is illogical to say the least and then as regarding Kashmir as a Nuclear flash point, I don't think and neither do the world. World is more concerned about nuclear bombs falling with rogue army general or a terrorist group.

Larger in size? Does that really matter? Not being sarcastic or so but India is even scared of pigeon and loses their mind. What about Pakistan's Amry? Wold's one of the best army. If India is nuclear power so is Pakistan. Indians always underestimate Pakistan/Pakistanis & one day their overconfidence will cause them huge problem. Taking your enemy light is really fool. :) #Peace.
