We are one of the most charity giving nation although massive percentage still doesn't pay zakat. Pakistan needs to channelize this and those really rich should help families getting established for example give some rickshaws to power or get women poverty struck houses designing and sewing training so they can produce good clothes and also finance education so poverty can reduce.

That's around $6.4 billion if I'm not wrong

That's a lot of money, we could do a lot with it if we channel it in the right places

These numbers are what Pakistan give to register institution like shaukat khanum, edhi, tcf and hundred other, what we give to road side begger is not included in it... These figures can be double.

and TAX?

Pakistan is one of the most charity giving nations. Before giving charity we have to make sure that it goes only to the poor and needy and does`nt go to the wrong hands

I dont believe the rich give charity..They steal from us and if they give some back to us that is not charity but our haq

One thing is for sure.... we may not pay taxes, however, Alhamdulillah we give back a lot..... we really do....... I don't know of ANYONE who doesn't...........

what does 'a lot' mean? tax can take away between 10 to 40 percent of your income..

Taxes go directly to the government and allow any government to plan public welfare projects like Metro trains, Hospitals, Education, Healthcare Subsidies, etc, etc. If you don't pay taxes, the country could never advance, no matter which country it is.
Giving back to the community is not a Tax replacement. Its an additional item that if you can afford to do, you can, otherwise, you don't have to.

In the US, after all said and done, I pay over 40% tax combined. But then, I also go out and give to charity and other things. Doesn't mean I think that I should do one or the other.

Also, if Pakistanis as a nation give 650 Billion, then it needs to be given through proper institutions which actually do solid, real projects which then help the country grow. Randomly giving money shows care and all, but it doesn't really go into a solid structure, helping the population.
