Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday accepted PM Narendra Modi’s offer to help victims across the Line of Control. He reportedly thanked his Indian counterpart and said: 'Your offer for help in our flood relief efforts is thoughtful'.
Over 160 people have died in floods in Pakistan and Sindh and Punjab provinces have been warned to brace for heavier floods in the days to come. Many areas of Azad Kashmir have been ravaged by flash floods and incessant rains.
"While reviewing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, I was informed that the damage to life and property is equally, if not more, severe in areas across the Line of Control as well... In this hour of need, I offer any assistance that you may need in the relief efforts that will be undertaken by the Government of Pakistan. Our resources are at your disposal wherever you need them," Narendra Modi said earlier in the day.
Pakistan has also offered help to India where the worst floods in last six decades have hit the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
