KARACHI: It’s NESCAFÉ Basement time! Finally.

The music platform is back with its fifth season and judging from the introductory song Jaanga Toh Parega at least, it will be a good one.

NESCAFÉ Basement is a platform that encourages youngsters to pursue their passion for music and pursue their dreams. Every season gives opportunities to emerging musicians from across the country.

Well I know there’s a thread already going on music with the name “what are you listening to right now”. But this thread is merely about Pakistani music being remade OR productions of new songs too.

I always heard about Nescafe Basement. But never religiously followed it like I follow “coke studio” and recently started following “Pepsi battle of the band” but I personally have fallen in love with Nescafé basements’ tracks.
Their musicians are full of talents.

Doubtlessly, Pakistan has great great talent in music. It just needs to be explored and opportunities to show this talent to the world.
I am so much thankful to all these three brands to sponsor these talents and helping them to emerge, worldwide.

Here are few my personal very favorite from Nescafé basement.

Addicted to this already.

Sometimes remakes are better than the original. IMO

This 8 years old girl has completely nailed it.

I very rarely like remakes of USTAD NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN’s songs. I honestly don’t like even Rahat Fateh Ali Khan singing Ustaad NFAK.
But this guy has done justice to this masterpiece. I LOVE IT

This is my personal favorite in playlist under the name of “Legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan”.

Please share your favorite songs from Nescafe basement, Pepsi battle of the band, and coke studio.

@The Sandman @Zibago @newb3e @undercover JIX

And all.

Oh I didn’t start following back then. I used to pick and listen to some of his compositions. I am so happy he’s back. This season of CS would be better hopefully.

The best season of coke studio so far in my opinion. He made some excellent fusions in this season. The violinist in the Balochi song for example is playing a Norwegian tune but it fits in so smoothly with the Balochi singing.

The behind the scene videos in this season are a great watch.
