Pakistani girl leaves China after living and studying in China for 7 years

China is great but I believe it would be more difficult for me to enroll in the best Chinese universities versus the best American or British universities. By the grace of God, since I can afford to attend the best British universities, I have no reason to even apply to Chinese universities.
@beijingwalker @zhxy doesnt china give big scholarships and women translators to male foreign students

.
Maybe try looking into getting some RA/TA-ship?
Bro, we are talking about Hong Kong, the competition will be insane, especially if I want to enroll in The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Even The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and City University of Hong Kong have improved drastically in such a short amount of time so these two will also be attracting a lot of top talent from the world.

.
Good !

Her accent and spoken Chinese seems very clear and clean

She will have a clear advantage in applying for jobs in Chinese companies operating overseas

There will be a few operating in Pakistan - she seems intelligent - she will have a good future for sure.

She would be better off in the Gulf - a lot of Chinese investment heading that way and it is a better place to live and earn than Pakistan is at the moment.

I myself want to go to Hong Kong for my master's but foreign students aren't allowed to work outside their university which is why I can't go to Hong Kong 😭.
I did 1 year in Chinese University in Hong Kong before I left for the US (Or should I say returned to the US) I never know why University in Hong Kong (not just HKU) are very competitive, to be honest, it's EXTRAMELY HARD to get in to CUHK thru JUPAS, but then their curriculum is honestly shit. I would say you probably dodge a bullet there.

When exactly did you study at CHUK?

Also, what subject did you study there?

Making Youtube content
Well, her channel weren't really that big, she had 185k subs, so you expect around $3000 from monetization from youtube

If she is earning money, it may be from other social media, not from Youtube. I know a gamer who had 1.15 million followers is earning around $9000 a month from Youtube.

Ironically, I majored in Chinese History, I had 2 AL, 2 ASL in HKALE and got in with minimal requirement (2 D in AL and 2 C in ASL). I did my HKALE in 1998 and I went to CUHK in the same year.

And seriously, nobody care about the working rule, I am a 3 stars permanent resident in Hong Kong, so I can work however I wanted, but I know a lot of mainland Chinese who simply ignore those requirement and work, Back when I was in Hong Kong, all you need is a HKID to find job, whether it was a 1 star or 3 stars

As far as research is concerned, these Hong Kong's universities go head to head against the best universities of the West.

Views aren't everything, she probably gets sponsors. Also, she is huge on Chinese social media networks.

I don't know about arts but Hong Kong's universities are top-tier when it comes to engineering, data science, finance, fintech and accounting. Their data science and fintech syllabus is as good as their British counterparts and from what I have researched so far, British universities seem to have the best data science syllabus in the world.

I was doing an undergrad degree, so this may not applies to me then. But I would probably choose US college for research, but then that's just me.

Well, it is if we are talking about YouTube. It works in a very mysterious way, but if your video don't clicks, nobody are going to sponsor you or it would have been extremely small or targeted, the base line for Youtube sponsorship is that manscape thing (You probably heard of it if you watch YouTube) they sponsor everyone as long as you are over 200k sub and over 20m view, again, as I said that's just YT, she may have her income from other source, like Weibo or WeChat. I don't know. If she is making money on Social Media, chances are they are from those type of social media than YT

I guess that's depends on your field of study, I am not an engineer person, I went the maths/history route because my high school in Hong Kong did not offer AL level computer studies unless you do art program (don't ask me why, but that's what they did) they don't offer computer to science route student.

I grew up mostly in Hong Kong, so I can't really say for sure for an outsider, but as the person who come from the inside, University in Hong Kong is seems to be hard to get in but easy to get out. I know HKUST are ranked quite high in the world, but again, if I have money (Studying in Hong Kong ain't cheap, I remember a year tuition is around 20,000 HKD, but then we have a grant/loan program so I pay nothing) you probably better off in the UK or the US or Australia. I think most foreign people study in Hong Kong probably because of its culture. But again, that's from a person from the inside seeing out, I don't really know the other perspective. If you want to share why or what make you want to study in Hong Kong?

I just love Hong Kong, it is such a cool place. It is one of the world's major financial and business hubs. It has arguably the best public transport infrastructure on the planet. I want to experience the vibe of roaming around in neon streets. I will be able to easily visit Shenzhen, a city that I dream about visiting. In my opinion, it also has the best skyline on the planet. I believe that I will learn a lot in this cutthroat city and being able to experience the beautiful culture of East Asia will make the cutthroat nature of the city more bearable. However, I will never go there as a student due to not being able to work there as a foreign student.
