A 14-year-old girl was forced to walk through a village naked as punishment for her brother allegedly having an affair. Landlords to be fined £5,000 for trying to charge tenants letting fees Eight men, who have since been arrested, forced the girl to parade through the streets of Garahmat village in Dera Ismail Khan.

The girl’s brother is believed to have been having an affair and this is thought to have been revenge by the scorned wife’s family. The incident took place last Friday while the girl was walking to a local pond to fetch water with three of her cousins. Her family initially claimed the girl was taken to a house, beaten up and stripped by nine people, but later reportedly retracted the statement on Monday.

Police are still on the hunt for one suspect but the other eight appeared before a judge on Wednesday. Family honour is a serious issue in Pakistan, and is the cause of nearly 1,000 deaths each year of women who have broken family rules and traditions. Stranger asks to follow children in shocking video warning of online abuse Village councils often intervene in family disputes in a bid to settle them without the judicial system. This can often lead to the abuse of vulnerable family members. Three months ago, a village council in the city of Multan ordered the ‘revenge rape’ of a 16-year-old because her brother had sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in a field.

The society is itself naked so why does this comes as a surprise is my question.

Tribal feudal male oriented society which pimps out the law for the rich.

Women rights in Pakistan can only be guaranteed by a revolution not through education.

First lesson of Islam was iqra. Still jahils galore.

It's not about education anymore. Education is different from ethics.

These events basically should be interpreted as refusal or denial of the Pakistani Constitution.

They are the real anti state elements of Pakistan.

And if you guys think this is just a one off? You can be not more wrong.

But Naureen Leghari is ‘daughter of the Nation’

The problem is two fold Aqua.

This happened in NWFP right? That cricketer turned Politician playground. The same person who made steps to somehow legalize a parallel court system of jirga and Panchayat? The same person who has succumbed to electoral politics.

What is electoral politics in Pakistan? Giving the waderas and chaudarys and maliks the political patronage to run parallel government completely in denial of the Pakistani values?

Naureen became extremist because she read such news daily and how hard is it to mislead young kids. Not that hard in a society where laws apply only to the poor and not the rich.

As long as injustice will remain in Pakistan it will be prone to extremism both the left and the right.

Naureen can be rehabilitated but these people cannot be because that is the only system of governance they know.

In the end some vigilantes will stand up and start shooting people and then people will cry ISIS is here.

I saw this news two days ago. Boiled my blood but that's how Pakistan has been under the land mafia Raj ever since Liaquat got shot.

I personally don't believe in women rights or men rights. There are human rights, that every human supposed to have within the limits of the constitution/Laws, without looking at person's gender or religion.

That is what Law State is, not looking at citizen's gender or religion and giving same rights to every citizen without exception.

I wish best luck to brother Pakistan.
