Pakistan’s industrial sector achieved a substantial milestone as the European Union granted German Technical Association Certificate to a Pakistani company for manufacturing solar panels for export to the European markets.

This achievement will open a new window of opportunities for Pakistani quality products to gain wide acceptance in the European markets.

Pakistan industrial sector, especially solar energy equipment manufacturing, has great export potential in international markets, including Middle East, Europe and the United States.

Which company?

Never mind,

RAWALPINDI (INP): The Industrial sector of Pakistan on Friday reached a milestone as the European Union granted Technischer Uberwachungs Verein (a German Technical Association) certificate to a Pakistani company to manufacture solar panels for export in European markets.
On the occasion, Aamir Hussain, the CEO of TUV certified Tesla Industries of Pakistan said this achievement will open a new window of opportunities for Pakistani quality products to gain wide acceptance in European markets.
Aamir further said, “Pakistan industrial sector, especially solar energy equipments, has great export potential in international markets, including Middle East, Europe and United States but is unable to tap into them because of the quality matters with particular reference to WTO.”
He said TUV certificate granted by EU to Tesla Industries of Pakistan was a milestone as the export of solar panels will benefit our economy and generation of employment opportunities too. He further said innovation, creativity, integrity and sustained growth of the industry was indispensable to achieve the height of the quality to compete in international market.
He asked the local manufacturers to focus on the global market by keeping set standards of WTO and not to limit themselves to domestic market. If they do not compromise on quality, Pakistani industrial products would soon win the international markets like Tesla’s, he stressed.

Well the company should first sell in Pakistan why bother with Europe with 180 Million customers with no energy in home

Pretty dumb mandate for company if it can't sell to 180 Million local customers .. what good they will do selling to Europeans ?

They sound like importer/ exporters getting license to ship Chinese Solar panels to Europe

Not everyone of those 180 million can afford buying solar panals, only high and upper middle class can , then again u hv to fight with chinese in local market and Pakistani companies not gonna win the fight for now.

What I think the Co has got is a certification that it meets EU standards for export of panels.

This is not the difficult part.

The challenge starts now - to meet cut throat prices from competitors world wide.

WE need Forex .. we have lots of companies in Pakistan who are complying with local needs .. Solar Energy is still out of reach for 90% even though its price has come down remarkably .

Simple because by 2015-16, every single house in UK should have solar power in use "in principle" govt here is giving free solar panels to house holds. No one would want to miss out on this opportunity sir.

Its not cheap to purchase these things while many still dont know about it while the Germans are an open market for green energy...

Well I have tried to get specifications and email has still not been answered. Acting like a Pakistani company wont get you too far no matter how good your product is.

It is simply not feasible, the government of Bangladesh has made it mandatory for new buildings 5 storeys or higher to have solar panels as a backup. we Bangladeshis simply rent one before the inspectors come or bribe them away. They barely light up anything for the guard room. Its too costly.

A positive devleopment. Now they to make sure that their products are competitive.

Pakistan has lots of great small to medium sized businesses that do take customer care seriously. In an ideal economy thee guys would be given tax breaks and cheaper development loans.

I don't know about Pakistan being a solar panel manufacturing hub, but it has already become a hub for producing total nuts like you. I have seen many stupid comments on PDF, you just beat em all with this.

Exactly well said. Koreans and Chinese are just too competitive and their products enjoy government subsidy. Secondly, Pakistan might be an assembler of solar panels, but most of the components are imported jacking up the costs. The reason why east asia is so competitive, is that they not only produce the final assembly but also manufacture the raw materials, India and Pakistan if have to compete must do the same.
